Your League ideas

Something I have thought of in relation to this custom league system is the possibility of parallel leagues. Under the normal system leagues can only make the game more difficult due to the return to parent league mechanic.

I've been wondering if it would be possible to include a system where there are custom leagues that are separated entirely from the normal softcore realm - characters are not returned to a parent league at the end. In my mind this would be useful for people who want to run an easy league for build testing or spading item drops, and could also be used if people want to play modified versions of the game (e.g. the Median XL and Eastern Sun mods for Diablo 2) while still remaining connected to the official system and holding the same options for cash shop to keep the admin happy. Of course, the fee to create the League should still apply.

I feel like this would be a way to avoid the "private server" problem that a lot of free RPGs get and accomodate those players into the official network without unbalancing the standard play environment.

Allocated Loot League

I think this should be available to players that want to play with Allocated loot only. Even though its not part of the main leagues, it would be nice to have this as an option.

All loot is allocated, even white drops.

The only purpose of this league is that all loot is allocated while in a party. Everything else from the normal league still applies. This would be the only difference.

The problem here is that the normal league has the 'easiest' set of rules, because characters can always be transferred to this parent league (hardcore characters dieing, timed-league characters running out of time, ladder resets etc).

So if GGG wants the parent league to have hold-alt indefinitely + click fest + people not contributing to fighting monsters + melee characters having the advantage over ranged characters sort of loot system, it obviously is not possible to have a league with allocated loot.

Unless this realm is totally separated from the parent league, I don't think we will get allocated loot at all. Which I think is a shame, because allocated loot makes the game better (imo).
And if we can get leagues separated from the parent league too, I want to suggest this one:

The independent PVP mode:
- No PVE, only PVP Arena's
- Set character level (equivalent to level 90 in Diablo 2, when your PVP build was done)
- Balanced skills (because the mode is independent of the parent league, skills can be balanced specifically for PVP), maybe only allowing certain combinations etc.
- A list of items specifically made for PVP, available to everyone for free (to give everyone a fair shot and if an item becomes too good, they can balance it easily)
- Only rewards: ladder rank, cosmetic rewards, titles

There comes a time when I'm just done with the PVE content (untill new content comes out) and I always enjoy to PVP. In the normal league, trying out this new PVP build takes so much time (leveling a char close to max to get a good test going) that it is often not worth it.
I would actually pay to have a completely separate league with only allocated loot - Also I'd invite anyone who wants to play on it.

guys do you drop all your equipment when you die in HC mode or only in cut-troat?it will be nice to have a possiblity to loot everything in Hc mode too

Oh yeah this would be incredible. I never used to get good enough gear to try much PvP in D2, but this could completely fix that problem.
My 2 cents.

- Corruption League: the madness of the world constantly flows in your character trying to enslave it - i.e. you have "corruption" value constantly increasing over time and with mob successfull hits. It shouldn't reach certain value or you turn into smth ugly. Corruption removal items drop from mobs (or players) and its per second rate increases with League progress. This escalation goes infinite until the only one player left. (sweet old ADOM)

- Flood of Filth League. Infite mob respawns: you can't "clear" the room and continue because fiends come from all sides and fall from ceiling in a steady rate, you have just to progress further with minimal losses. Very rare or no checkpoints so that in a case of wipe you start from the beginning or far behind. The first player/party completed the game wins.

And it would be nice to have superb item rewards for the winners, so that there is the uber-elite class of items, which encourages players to play in a competitive leagues. These items are seeded by devs, so their inflation or gameplay deterioration in parent league can be asily controlled.

This sounds interesting but I'm worried a bit about balance. Players would be able to just sit in one room and kill tons and tons monsters and get tons and tons of loot without really "playing" the game. It's not behavior you would want to encourage and I think that's why it hasn't been done in other arpgs.

You could just make the re-spawned monsters not drop any loot, or simply reduce the drop rate of items in that league.
