Once you pass certain gear barrier, once you high level enough, once you played the game enough (read: did all the bosses, all the maps many times), the probability of dying from content rough equalizes with probability of dying from desync/bug/other non content issue.
Probability of dying from content can be manipulated with better gear, grouping, skipping all the rip bosses regardless of mods, etc. But the probability of dying from non-content can not be manipulated as freely and largely can not be manipulated at all. Basically if you play long enough you will die from desync/lag/bug. Boxes add large "die-from-non-content" element but unlike anything else are mandatory for progression (at least carto boxes). LOL the desync didn't resync itself after like ONE WHOLE MINUTE after you get killed.

" This is true, and I'm not defending desync at all, but if you have an alt-f4 macro you can insta-log out at any time you realize you're experiencing heavy desync/lag/rubberbanding (in these spots /oos sometimes doesn't work for me). I must've done this 20+ times already where I'm in a risky situation and mobs haven't been in sync for 2-3 seconds. You're actually really unlikely to die unless your char is a glass cannon. With that said, even one very unlikely death to desync is one too many. I'm toying with the idea of switching to standard/ambush if I do die to it. |

why do i need to explain obvious things?
there is constant probability of dying given a period of time to non-content every long term player realizes that the fact that some players avoided that probability roll (and max block Aegis Unhost used lowers this probability) simply says that those players were lucky have you seen Baker's RIP leapslamming through doorway? or many other rips boxes multiply this mess but devs act as if desync and bugs do not exist sheesh | |
