Come and see how I'm cursed (Dominus farm log)

I would pose your time investment is wrong.

Looking at your gear, do you swap those 5 items every time for the cull?

that's time lost and efficiency gone.

Do you pick up all items?

That's time lost and efficiency gone.

Do you farm piety solo instead of forming a public party for increased drops?

I would say again, that's time lost and efficiency gone.

Basically, you want to pick up rare rings and amulet. Nothing more, these are the hardest to find rares for the chaos recipe. The others that you require for the recipe can be farmed once you have a stash full of rings and amulets.

Unique's? Are they worth something on the market = pick up, if not, leave them or sell for alch shards to alch rings/amulets for recipe. (or make a supper bazaar shop that sells them for 1 chaos a pop)

About party efficiency.

In a party of 6, you have 1 culler and 5 runners. The 5 runners go to piety and make a portal. Then everybody goes in every portal to kill piety together and get the MF cull loot + party mf buff. This creates massive lootsplosions. This saves time and yields the highest results.

Just saying there are ways to gain currency very efficient in this game.

(not saying i promote this btw, this is just the current state. I usually pick up every rare from a boss etc, i also DON'T have an mf character at all, but i am not unaware of how to achieve efficiency when i would make one.)

Last time i joined a party with a dedicated culler for dominus runs (like i mentioned earlier in the thread i am no fan of this and find it borring, however sometimes i join some friends that do it etc for a few runs) a minimal of 1 unique dropped per run, sometimes 2. This was on ambush where there is no IIQ gear except for unique items. (it's still only 1 unique for 6 players) And i think around 40/50 rares in total (again divided over 6 players).

This might not seem like a lot, but the time investment with this method is that you have 5 dedicated runners, forcing 5 runs easily into 10/15 minutes if done properly.

Hope this info helps you out?

Edit : just to say efficiency =/= time investment.
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

Just make an RF Marauder and you can farm any area you want on ghetto gear. I made the mistake when I first started playing of using a lightning arrow Ranger, then switched to a dual totem witch. Both are awesome if you have the gear, but when your starting out, you have to pick a character that can do 70's maps on mostly self found gear.

Make that character, run higher end maps instead of piety, and later on you can go back to the character you're playing. just my 0.02$

I do Dominus not Piety, and one run takes 3 minutes in total, I don't pick up/sell rares and don't pick up worthless uniques. Party run isn't more efficient. I drop 20-30 rares which equals about 4 runs with 6 man party and dedicated MFer. So I'm more efficient than this. And I've done 2 man parties with MFer, 6 man parties, 5 man parties and so on and so forth. All you get is less junk (rares), because everything has to be split between all party members. And don't forget that even if one unique drops each time it's not always yours, so you can end up having no unique for many runs.

I hit 200 runs and last 30 are very good reason to leave this game and come back when GGG will find some brain to make it more woth your time and effort. I just can't believe it. It's one of the best online games, because it's completely free and not pay 2 win and yet, I have nothing that I could be happy about. I'm really sorry for people who cannot afford more than 1 or 2 hours a day to play this game, but as you can see even if you play 8 hours a day, you still get nothing and shit for a good measure.

You have to understand that 200 runs is pretty nothing RNG-wise. If you have 50 % chance to get an unique, and if a unique drop, 1 or 2 % chance that this unique is worth several exalts ( which is globally close to reality ), you can easily get that it's pretty common to get 200 runs without anything valuable.

200 runs is nothing, really.

You complain, but you actually did good, from what I see- Wings of Entropy, Chayula, Rats Nest. Unreasonable expectations lead to disappointment. Always have. Always will.

you guys know this game forces you to play the market right?

trading? in a way it can be considered that but rather it's more of selling out of ratio prices to players who are not in the know

gain profit

repeat

Thanks OP for reminding me why I stopped playing this game.
You have to understand that I haven't made this thread to show you quantity of uniques, not quality and like I said I realize how long it can take for a good one to drop. I have friends that have been lucky this one little moment and got themselves something really valuable. But by looking at some people that are way way more lucky than the others you ask yourself why you're not? Not to mention that this luck is sometimes endless (this actually applies to many online games). And as someone mentioned that didn't drop top-tier unique in 2 years of playing. Is that fair? After playing 2 years, is that what would you expect? With your thinking I should drop Mjolner/mirror/whatever is valuable and then not expect any uniques for a month, because I was too lucky. Persoanlly if I would drop Goldrim or Fairgraves Tricorne or anything non-valuable each 2nd time, I'd personally feel much better, cause I would see that I'm getting somewhere. With Redbeak in 30 runs I'm more of getting nowhere.

Dominus has strange RNG patterns... He is very streaky with unique drops, and it's not uncommon to go hours with no unique much as your last two 10 block runs come up empty.

Ideally, each block of 10 runs would drop around 3-4 uniques. But it's crushing to hit him 10 times in a row and get nothing.

The only thing I found helpful back when I was running him for hours on end was to treat amulets as unique drops. I was much happier when I did this :-)

This isn't Dominus' fault though, it's how RNG works. Wouldn't be very random if you'd use a small sample size and consistently get the same results over and over again.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
