first off, haha. secondly this game is all about maximizing game mechanic knowledge and using every means at your disposal to get as much gain as possible.
as long as snapshotting remains in the game i can't be against it. if it was unintended then they'll take it out then players like HvC will again adapt and overcome and dominate the game just the same - period

That'd be why I included the part in parenthesis. While we all are generally okay with Alt F4 (though not the balance being built around it), it'd be awkward as hell to have to Alt F4 live on stream.

And you have no issues with a game being designed around having to force-quit it frequently as part of the regular gameplay?

its not really designed around doing it regularly though, its designed with the possibility for shit to get that wild with map mods, monster spawns etc coming together to form a lethal cocktail on rare occasions. I have lvl 73, 76, 78, 89 and 91 characters in ambush and ive yet to come across an altf4 situation in the whole league.

Been instaripped by strongboxes a couple of times, my own fault, completely avoidable situations.

not really, no shame in it at all, same as jumping in a port at the last moment before death, thats what good players do, bad players just stand there and die like an idiot.

you do what it takes in this game, thats what its about, pushing it to the limits, cheese balling, 'exploiting', whatever, thats the name of the game, it forces you to play to the limits and pull out all the stops to make it happen.

HVC did a great job and put some (intellectual) effort in creating his builds in nemesis and invasion.
The people who are writing about him that hes an abuser/exploiter are just pathetic and envious people.

Those aren't mutually exclusive...he is an exploiter. That is a fact. However, you can still respect his accomplishments and skill.

I have very little experience with snapshotting, and I'm typing this without looking into this specific guy and to what extent he "abuses" it in his build. But I personally don't think it should be considering cheating if a person is choosing to go the extra length with spending regrets and swapping items and gems around to obtain the ultimate min-max build. Keep in mind that these effects vanishes whenever the guy zones, so its an extremely fiddly and probably expensive thing to do for a temporary buff, and it negates one of the other very dodgy mechanic of this game: Spamming portals to regain health, pots, and get out of danger.


I hope they don't get rid of snapshotting, unless they also reworks the portal bit, and we all know thats not going to happen.
What they should do is make sure you can't snapshot safely during boss fights. Making it an even bigger risk-reward thing.

HVC is a decent enough guy and I do not blame him for snapshotting. However, I do think it takes a bit(just a bit) from his accomplishments. I also think snapshotting should be completely removed from the game. That is just my opinion.


I do think there is poetic justice that ultimately it is snapshotting that killed him. However, I never wanted him to die and even enjoyed watching him play at times.
