You know that even science is messed up with internal controversy, which makes it scientific in the first place? There are probably several scientific papers floating around neglecting the stuff spilled in the article you shared. Furthermore scientific research is influenced by non-scientific organisations the more the research relies on money to make a major breakthrough. Of course this money will only be available in the research if the results searched for are to the liking of the investor. Completely ignoring an observation that goes againt a claim is about the least scientific thing you could ever hope to do. It doesn't matter what the claim is, or who made the claim. If it disagrees with observation/experinent/nature, it is wrong. You won't get no glory on that side of the hole.
