Cut-Throat, Event 10: 48 Hour Cut-Throat

dropping ALL gears is just annoying.

didnt see any debuff for cold snap or bear trap or glacial hammer and this is not in PVP arena so things jsut went bad. really bad.
no more balance between classes and killing mobs is just becoming secondary consideration

people can just see where u r by typing /whois and keep tracking where u r cause they know ur level and can beat ur ass once and once again - they know u r naked now. and names can be easily found on web and chatting.

people also fight in group like gangsters for robbing - that's no longer pvp, that's gvp. luckily some mobs avenged for me :)

a lot of things need to be changed for this cut throat thing or somebody or some setting are just ruining the fun and excitement deaths brought

i would say cut throat endless ledge sounds better cause u cant go back to find weaker noobs to kill, and that is really everything drops. leaving the league immediately and join again is fine because no one at higher level is going to rob u again, and u dont have to face high level mobs with zero resistense
Would be hilarious if more players would have progressed :(

This. Bear trap is annoying. Tracking by /whois is annoying. Gvp is annoying, they can't hurt themselves cause they lock you with 2-3x bear traps / freeze. Not everyone has flicker strike / fast enough leap slam but these fucking bear traps are used by all players.

Fun I guess, though there is a serious lack of players. At one point we was able to get all of the top 3 online players togather in one instance, over a 20 level gap between high and low.

Also, you cant invade players in maps, you can only invade a instance if they are in that instance, and being in a map is separate then in the eternal lab, so if they don't invade you while your in the lab, then you pretty much cant be invaded in the map.
lol top 20 from level 65 to 31 and rank 100 is only level 19. this mode looks pretty dead(not really surprising to me). I guess there aren't actually that many people interested in CT. pretty funny since some people said it was something a whole bunch of people longed for.

I don't think this is a appropriate reflection of how many players are interested in cut throat. Most players would like to see the mode succeed but don't want to waste there time in an event that hasn't changed much since open beta.

Like what has changed? Glacial hammer nerf is the only thing that comes to mind and that just happened... with a few good changes the 48 hour and longer CT events will be a lot more fun and I could see more players attending.
Couldn't even finish crypt so no last minute PVP.

Issues so far:
No Mapinvasion system-->You can only invade the lab.

There should be at last some method to invade a random map or sarcifice a map+orb to generate more portals.

Level differences become far to big. I can only suspect that it becomes like 30 levels at level 100.While unlucky melee characters/bow characters might be killed that won't be the case for casters.


With gating you can bypass the level restriction, which is a massive flaw. I reported the bug yesterday.

Like I suspected a long term CT league will only end up in mine/trapstacking.
7 Stacked mines do massive damage.

Freezing is still a far too big issue.

Cheating. A player was obviously using a zoomhack to tp out.
Another one suspected a player to use it in cruel because the same happened to him.
There is no way that you can see somebody coming if he uses no skills to close in and especially in late game it should be quiet hard to escape after the short lag.


I also suspect there was something wrong with the monster damage. There should be no way that regular elemental mobs hit you with 500 damage at 77% resists and leave 6 sec ailments.


On a side note I think that experience only penalty and item drops if you die to a monster might be a good default CT mode.
The majority of my rips was dominus cruel because I did him with poor EQ at level 48 and died when TPing out.


But the major issue on CT is still Freeze(this must be really limited to unspammable skills), later Traps/Mines(they need proper scaling because traps are already the strongest eq gearunindependant PVP build) and of course griefing.

CT should be more about the art of PKing instead of bad mannered PK.
Low players should be able to invade high players with a visual indicator
Queststates need to block invasions. Best example glyphs normal.
The difference between high players invading lower players must be far lower.
This raises the question if the gemlevels or gemlifetime should be tracked somebody muling level 21 gems to a level 67 character will have a negative impact on balance.


On the other side I also agree that CT D,DC or EL would be a better suited CT mode. But I suggested that once already.

Full Gear CT needs massive drop buffs aside from balancing.
Players not being able to make a comeback, NKing, bad luck streaks really destroy this mode.
