If you pick up 4% mana reservation from the templar tree you can run hatred + determination + tempest shield for true "max block" :)
145%mana reserved * 0.71 (20lvl reduced mana) * 0.96(4% mana reservation) = 98% reserved mana if I'm not mistaken.

I'd like to use this this 75% block version, because it has hatred as well. However, it looses purity of light and fire. Could you propose an efficient way to swap in purity of fire/light when they are needed?(like before boss fights) Is hatred the best option to swap one of them for? Or possibly swapping hatred + tempest shield for both purities? Do we ever not need Determination?

Also, is rainbowstrides BiS for this build?(the AA version) I have decent life+ armor + chaos res boots, so I'm wondering if I can make it work without the HP-less unique.

That's why the title says "high block", not "max block" ;D anyway, the 71% is with tempest shield, so you'd either need 4% more block from the tree (which is achievable, just look at my first post), or a corrupted lazwhar with "4% block" instead of "4% spell block" like I have.

As for the auras, if you mean the 4% node towards Sovereignty, that isn't really worth it, imo.

You need the two purity auras only for doing Atziri, which is also when you do not need determination, so you have extra room for auras. Only other situations when you maybe need purity auras is when doing crema boss, and maybe, but a big maybe, when doing piety in shrine. Crema boss hurts a lot more than piety, and your high spell block won't always save you, you have to be really careful. But other than that, I don't use them normally.

Rainbowstrides is great for this build not only because of resistances, but primarily because it adds % of you block to spell block, and because it adds ES which is useful if you have aegis aurora.

And what are your standard auras? you can only fit 2x60% auras with lvl 20 reduced mana. That's why i proposed the 4% mana reduction in order to fit in the tempest shield (making it 3 auras at a time)

Yes, that AA mod procs with every bloc, both physical and spell block (take a look at the build video at the end where I facetank voidbearers - their flame spit is a spell).

Normally, I run determination + hatred. If you really want the 3 auras, of course you can go for the 4% less mana reserved, I just told you what my opinion is. At level 92, 2 extra points is a lot, but this build is flexible, so if you go for that, it's not like you'll lose something very significant. Actually, it's very simple, since you can always choose what you want to sacrifice: block chance, dps, or life :)

What you think is better, hatred/determination + tempest shield? or Hatred and detemrination with no tempest shield? Ive been trying both and I feel tankier having both hatred and detemrination no tempest shield... What you think?

And guys my advice to get the soultaker is to do many dominus runs! you ll get nice uniques which you can trade to get soultaker at one point :)

... or get a Soultaker drop itself :) dominus runs are definitely the fastest way of farming currency or getting the desired unique.

As for your question, hatred and determination are best for most cases, yes. The reason is it gives you both tankiness and dps. Dps is also a form of tankiness, as mobs have less chance to hurt you if you kill them faster :) but its also great cause you level faster. I'd recommend determination and tempest shield only when you're facing a really hard map or something similar.

Soultaker is a lvl 59 unique. It can drop from dominus or piety, can't it?
