[1.3] Sidra's Necromancing Ranger of Chaos (Poison Arrow) Videos/Atziri capable

You can level Gems - that don't cost anything, 20q them and then level them again. My empower started at level 1. I leveled it from 1-2 in my off weapon slot probably not being able to use it until like my early 80s, and then when it got to level 2, I Vaal Orbed it to get it to 3 because there was no way I could have leveled that thing from 2 > 3.

I would suggest starting with a Poison Arrow between 10-15q for 2-3c, because the extra area does help - and just slowly adding GCP to it as you level it.

Literally the only thing in this build that costs even an exalt is the carcass jack - and since your poison arrow doesn't go in it, you don't even really need a 5L. I think I bought my bow for 15c - although they may have gone up a bit since Poison Arrow has been buffed twice since I started this. But you can literally craft a blue + 2 to bow skills bow with a stack or two of alts, and it doesn't perform much too much worse.

I would say this is one of the cheaper builds you could play. I am pretty poor to be honest, and this thing was by far the cheapest of any build I have played.

Great build....Playing with it now with basically no gear and rolling along. Poison arrow is easy leveling, even with a found +1 bow and not much else. I've been using fire trap early (because I had it) :), but will soon drop it when I can start supporting desecrate better.

Very fun, and will probably use to start the next league.

I'd like to thank you for your guide, I recently made a new toon to follow it.
My first char is/was Marauder, but it was pretty derailed in talents for end map survivabilty (char lasted lvl 70+).

So after rerolling, I thought of 2 paths to follow which were interesting to me; a high mobility ranger or a summoner witch.


Of course I was very pleased to find your build, which is kind of a mix of the two. I like it a lot so far, though just at lvl30 atm. Got lots of levelling gear and gems from friends also, which helps alot.


Actually, first I read some of your posts in another topic, and I thought "that's a cool guy who knows his stuff" - that's how I found your own topic and build :)

Although I (coming from the south-west segment of the build tree as Marauder, the whole south-east and north-east parts are new to me) would be happy if you could point out the direction on what to take first at lower levels in the skill tree.

I retrofit some aura points, some health points etc. to get a somewhat cleaner version for lesser levels, but can't decide to go for MoM/OG or EB direction 1st (or maybe both at every other level?). Could make an argument in myself going for either one, but of course I understand they are meant to be taken together in endgame.

Sidra I am sure will reply as well, but as a person who is also following this build I will give you my own experience with where to go. I was heading first towards MoM, but was then fortunate enough to meet up with Sidra in game and he pointed out that taking MoM early in the build would leave me really mana-hungry. So, I have gone down *towards* MoM and to the left of it. I didn't take MoM yet, but going that direction gave me a couple good life nodes and a increase damage over time node. Now, on Sidra's advice, I am going to leave MoM for later and work my way up towards EB, grabbing the life nodes along they way. Then, after I have EB and am better equipped to deal with the mana loss from MoM, I will take MoM.

Over all I am loving this build so far as well!

Hey thanks guys glad you are liking the build - and I hope it worked as well as for you as it does for me. Since you both are asking, here is how I would go about leveling.

Step 1: Go get Ondar's
24 PTS

Step 2: Down to Golem's Blood, skipping MoM
43 PTS

Step 3: The long trek to EB
70 PTS

Step 4: Now get MoM and start filling in some DPS and a few more HP:
80 PTS

Step 5: More Minions Baby!
93 PTS

From there, you can really just look at my tree - it's just optimizing with what's left. Into my 90s now I am literally just taking the small evasion/hp nodes at the ranger start area or any 8% mana node I'm next to.

Also - just dinged 91 and also have another Atziri set I have formed so attempt 2 is going to come sometime soon. Main post is updated with current tree and numbers.

Going to use this one in the 2 week race. Hopefully it will perform well. :-)
First try on a hardcore race that lasts longer than about 2 hours. I think this one could work out with much kiting and playing slowly.

New video up of Atziri kickin me to the curb. This, however is good news since at my first try I couldn't get past the fight before her.

As you can see - I need to get a lot better at dodging and remembering to flask. Total play fail on my part - but I'll get better.

Looking forward to trying this build. One thing you didn't mention is what you did with the bandits. Any suggestions?
