Add "cannot leech" ( / less leech ) modes

There really do need to be some alternatives to lifeleech though. It's annoying that pretty much every non-summoner NEEDS lifeleech.

I agree, I'm trying to propose a first step to this.
I think that when the meta will start changing towards a non leech-compulsory stat, balance will adapt, however it is true that the modes that I am proposing should not come just alone.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.
+1

And add % life regen nodes in the upper right part of the tree.
I think theres a lot of benefits from damage leech being a big factor in a lot of builds. It promotes a more forward, aggressive style of play and allows monsters to be a lot harder hitting without the game needing to be a potion spam or a melee hurting kitefest.

You can build off regen and not leech, both for life and mana, I have offensive characters that do both. My ek marauder uses bm gem and has no leech at all, just survives off around 450 life per sec. I dont even use a kaoms, hes got a yellow chest and dual wands. You can do that already in the game and people chose to leech instead because its a more perpetual play style for a lot of builds, despite the risks of the way it combat locks you. And thats fun too, should I run? Can I risk dropping my leech in this situation to get out of here or is it safer to commit fully? I think it brings more of a dynamic than regen or potion popping.

Of course the points other people have raised are true and valid, but I just think it has pros and cons to it. Its very weighted towards leech, I just think its hard to really say if it would benefit the game to change that. Life regen is definitely lacking on the upper right of the tree.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

There are benefits, but going too far in that direction as it is atm just punishes every other mechanism :(.

But by doing that you get "punished" by no regen/50% regen map mods, where leech does not have this weakness.
Plus you cannot just deal with reflect from regeneration like you can with leech.

That has probably been done by design ( = "lack" of regen in the upper right tree ), and I understand it, but it does not seem to fit really well atm ( I mean, this part should be more meant to be taken for kitting/aggressive archetypes, should it not ? )

What I do not really understand is why leech has in the current state of the game no real weakness.
Of course it depends on one's damage output, but getting enough of it is not a really hard thing to do tbh.

more summoners XD
I'd love to see more viable alternatives to lifeleech.

Currently the options are basically:

Lifeleech
-or-
Gum up the screen with minions so you're never really in danger.

Even Aegis builds need lifeleech to quickly recover from spike damage lucky enough to no be blocked.

Man i've been calling for No leech as map mod for ages, make it happen!

Also remove blood magic mod.

Alternatively just remove cannot regen life or mana and leave the 50% regen which affects both leech and passive regen alike. When it all comes down to it, it isn't particularly great to add more mods that completely make it impossible many builds to run the map.
I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all.

So going from "no regen / 50%regen" to "50% regen/50% leech" ?
Seems fair !

PS : From all the maps that I have been rolling, I have the very strong feeling that a character with CI cannot roll blood magic on a map, I've rolled it couple of times of one BM char recently, I've never ever seen it on my main CI ranger.

Why not, it's not like it's the most played and OP archetype, it has drawbacks like everything ( everything but leech ? :P )
