Imagine.. PoE: the Next Level [Undiscovered Tree league]

So that RNG has even a greater influence? nty

Imagine a passive tree that has all 12-18% life nodes, max res increase, crit and block nearby. Stupid.
Yes, but only if you are just able to see the next 3-5 jumps of nodes nearby already taken nodes.
This would be a lot of fun and i would play it, since i already play character "at the get go" sort of style, nothing would change for me lol.

But there will be almost no community that enjoys these type of challenges.

(this is more of a SF sort of play, people have already shown they don't really appreciate these kind of challenges that make game play hard)

Spoiler
sorry for the generalization

Also like mentioned above, it would be very hard to balance and the ladder would die, or consist of a few people that got sick random passive tree's on the top, with a lot of struggling below them.

Also they would end up in void league, and i am not sure how many people would enjoy that concept.

Lolz, you deserve a +1 for going all the way.

I just had a thrill reading your comment.
An obscure passive tree..woh

Yes but only if each node has at least 6 paths.
The problem with yout idea Nightmare is you can't plan your build and planning a build from the beginning is part of the spirit of the game. But still.. Interesting.

Yeah, I know about the build creation being the spirit and all, living it myself.

However an obscured tree might make more of a different playstyle and might lead to interesting build decisions on the go. It would also somewhat drive me personally, as it got some kind of exploration in itself. People would also not ditch a randomly generated tree immediately. In a non-obscured scenario, people would just scan the tree for their build to be easily possible and else delete the char and reroll (at some point given the restriction of the League).

Never really thought about the idea of randomly generating the passive talent sets available. Any example where this was executed before "successfully"? Really, an exciting concept, imo!

What about a champions style race where everyone has the same obscured and completely new tree? Even with the new tree made up completely of keystones and notables, it would be a similar power boost to how Descent Champions gets away with starting uniques and multiple skills...

That solves several of the issues mentioned above, and potentially brings keystones into race play which they're largely lacking from.
and what if you could not see what any of the nodes do until you are 1 node away from it, so you have the travel around just to see what kind of skills would work best for you, could be cool.

this would be fun, like a race with skill trees that are created by the devs differently before each race. and you don't know what the next passive is in a tree until you get the skill before it. I would race if they made that.

That's not really a problem. There are other leagues for people who prefer to take the ladder seriously.

Sounds like a fun side league to me. I don't expect, from GGG's perspective, that this kind of thing would be worth the work put in to implement it, but that's their business.
Sounds pretty awful
