General Mood - Where the supporters surrender
" You're not a customer. You didn't buy the game. You made a contribution to the company for a game you were able to play prior to making said contribution. The supporter packs don't make you customers of the game. They make you customers to the portal effect, soundtrack and anything you bought from the shop. Are you unhappy with your portal? Customer service can help! Are you unhappy with the game? At least you didn't have to buy it! Look, man. Video games are hard, okay?

" yet without those kind of people , we get our diablo 3s and dead space 3s and mechwarrior onlines, installments to critically acclaimed series that fizzed out because the developers and publishers decided to take the games in a direction that was woefully unpopular while failing to get or blatantly ignoring the input of the community. so sure they can ignore us, and they can keep their controversial mechanics. they can do that , and they are entitled to it. just like they are then entitled to any repercussions that follow that decision , good or bad. " Well said, sir. I also totally agree. If you reach for the shiny stars you can also fall very deep and it can hurt a lot. You try over and over again with very little chance of success and you fail. What does that tell you? Don't you think that your expectations are too high? Games are not always there to reward you a lot for the time you spend in them. Games are made for fun, entertainment and sometimes to teach you something. Some games feel less rewarding and others are even punishing. Maybe it sounds weird for some people, but there are other people who have a lot of fun playing these types of games. A hardcore ARPG game like PoE also requires a lot of time and dedication from the player to "master" it. It is not a "gimme all the shiny loots, because i earn it"-simulator. When i came here i expected pretty much nothing. I didn't know anything about GGG and man, what do i want to expect from such a small company with their first game that is free to play? I was surprised by what a great job they did. Especially after playing D3 for 1200+ hours, Torchlight for almost 2 playthroughs and Marvel Heroes for about 2 weeks. In my opinion PoE beats all 3 of them easily. Whenever i stopped having fun in a game i stopped playing it. I didn't go to the forums to complain and tell them what a shit game they made, especially when i got it completely for free. Developers are human beings and have feelings, too. Feedback and discussion is okay, but crying, complaining and calling it shit is not. "I am a customer and the customer is king. I paid money, so give me what i want." - Sorry that i don't have other words for that, but you are an idiot. ;) |

"Some players don't display their Supporter tags. PoE is clearly dying."

There are a few things I feel could change, but otherwise I love the direction PoE is going and [still] have faith in GGG to make the right choices moving forward.
My biggest fear though, is if they appease the PvP whiners and nerf PvE abilities to balance them for PvP, which does NOT belong in a PvE/ARPG game imo... The middle ground would be something akin to Guild Wars 1, with separate tooltips for PvE/PvP. But in the end, PvP in an ARPG is MEANT to be glaringly op and imbalanced. This isn't a MOBA. How many people post grim "poe is dead!!!11" threads? 10? 50? Lets say 100 even, thats a minuscule amount compared to the player base who enjoys the game and have never even bothered to login to the forum

i thought it should be obvious now, but the reason most threads are negative is because positive feed back doesn't really do anything.
player A* hey ggg i love everything about your game GGG thanks. 30 seconds later .. it is like it never happened. if you like the game , you play the game , you dont NEED to stop playing to post hey i love the game , it is implied. most people who post here are probably in a burn out period. They have taken as large a dose of the features they hate as they can and they just have to walk away . that leaves time for forum posting. and most of those people don't even post , they just leave , my f-list is full to the brim with peeps, out of all of them ... 2 other people play the game right now not including me. |

" ^^^^^ Most supporters who like the game don't come to the forums. For those who are enjoying the game, there's no reason to anymore. This place belongs to the malcontents. |
