Raise Zombie skill explained
"Yes. It's less broken, but still abusive. Except in hardcore. Last edited by Mark_GGG#0000 on Jan 14, 2014, 10:05:16 PM

Rats, coughing up 10% XP a pop for a spectre was one of the most interesting decisions I had to make - and the fact that minions don't persist after a disconnect or logging off made it even more intriguing.
Rolling another char, RIP CoD specs. For a while it seemed like a great mechanic. Maybe scaling back on the damage would be more interesting than removing the synergy altogether. :D 💥💫BB Unloader 1000% AoE 70m DPS🗡️🔪🔫: view-thread/3466787

CoD with things like discharge is fine.
CoD just shouldn't work with minions. Many lewt.
Much desync. Such rewarding. Wow. According to forum mods "sandwich" is considered an offensive word. Who knew? |

" Part from the fact that 99% of the people using this tactic went to normal diff to die for their zombies for 0 loss and free 300%+ more damage |

" Yeah, but then they're playing a summoner. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I played a summoner when I first joined PoE, then I was like "this actually isn't fun at all" and the closest I've come since was a dominating blow facebreaker duelist. Many lewt.

" CoD Zombies were great for bosses, but Spectres were the other half, and the half that I enjoyed. Sometimes I would trade 10% for a lvl 72 Spectre from a map. It was worth it (provided no D/c's). Also, "part" from the fact that my sentence opened with '10% XP for a spectre'... 💥💫BB Unloader 1000% AoE 70m DPS🗡️🔪🔫: view-thread/3466787 FlickerCoC Ice Nova / Spear Assassin: view-thread/3225536 🔨⚡CWC Lightning Conduit Mjolner Trickster: view-thread/3300148 VD Arcanist Brand Necro: view-thread/2911667 Last edited by primaeva#0673 on Jan 15, 2014, 5:50:17 AM

i cant see how anyone can view how a 300% damage gem on minions could be balanced.

Ways to scale a summoner:-
Skill Gems and levels Minion Support Gems Curses EE A few 15% damage nodes. Uniques that are all crappy except for Montre'gul. CoD. NecroAegis for spell damage (certain spectres.) Now compare this to phys damage build. Skill Gems and levels Support Gems Curses EE Many % damage nodes. Uniques that put out a ton of DPS. +Phys damage on items. Attack Speed Nodes. Attack Speed items. Crit Chance Nodes. Crit Chance items. Crit Multiplier Nodes. Crit Multiplier Items. Pain Attunement / Crown of Eyes. Great uniques like BoR / Soul Taker. Leech from gear and passives. Points from Strength add to Melee and ranged (Iron Grip) .. Shall I stop here? ================ Maybe now you can see, just a little, how early summoner plateaus out. The one thing they're used for is MFing solo -- because they simply did not have the damage options on gear to go 'full offense'. The fact that someone can pinpoint everything that's wrong about summoner in one gem shows exactly which department it suddenly got a sorely needed buff in the form of CoD. The trap bug is a problem. The 300% damage gem? Just all the offensive power of any other build, in one badly-scripted gem that only summoners can use, at the price of 10% XP a pop. Oh, right, in before "accuracy issues" - summons have those too, but there is absolutely no way to fix accuracy except with an Additional Accuracy gem. Nice, huh? 💥💫BB Unloader 1000% AoE 70m DPS🗡️🔪🔫: view-thread/3466787 FlickerCoC Ice Nova / Spear Assassin: view-thread/3225536 🔨⚡CWC Lightning Conduit Mjolner Trickster: view-thread/3300148 VD Arcanist Brand Necro: view-thread/2911667 Last edited by primaeva#0673 on Jan 15, 2014, 8:41:23 AM

" You also get 'regular' Supports for Minions. Melee Phys, Added Fire and Multistrike all work just fine for Zombies. High base Damage, pretty easy access to high Increased Damage, and Melee Phys. Pretty tasty. " Completely ignoring the fact that those "few" (eight) Damage nodes are in clusters that you're likely to want for their additional benefits, whereas Damage nodes decrease in potency when combined with another desirable stat. One of the Damage nodes is in a pretty bad spot, the rest leads to +1 Zombie/Skeleton or +1 Spectre. %Elemental and Spell Damage nodes tend to be really low end, rarely reaching over 10%. It wasn't until fairly recently that Physical Damage got nodes that reach 15%, and those are all Notables. Additionally, Zombies have high Base Damage, which makes that 15% much more impressive than on, say, any one-hander. One-handers actually need that flat Damage from gear (and rare Affix rolls) to deal lots of Damage, whereas Minions get off relatively easy. That's why Summoners can load up on IIQ/R pretty safely; not only do they have a wall of meat in front of them, they don't need Damage modifiers from their gear. Now, do note that I'm not saying Summoners are all fine and dandy, and that they're good for clearing Maps in a party. I cannot say that because I just don't have a clue, simple as that. What I am saying is that you're casting broad strokes and drawing conclusions from that. Don't do that. |

" On that note, this summoner is my fourth character to hit 80+. I am not casting broad strokes. I've made successful characters who've pushed their DPS with a good build and worked hard for my gear. I do indeed think that the number of passives for summons cannot match up to weapon-based classes. I would suggest you do the same and actually invest in a summoner, before telling others they're the ones casting broad strokes :/ What's "completely ignored" here is the fact that you didn't mention anything about crit, attack speed, and crit multipliers. QED. And the use of the quotation marks on "few"? Very masterful. EIGHT damage nodes versus about twenty a regular phys character might pick up, then he'd move on to stacking life nodes and notables/keystones to really define the build. Even strength nodes add to damage done. The "few" is very, very justified indeed. I would suggest you do the same and actually invest in a summoner, before telling others they're the ones casting broad strokes :/ Don't do that. 💥💫BB Unloader 1000% AoE 70m DPS🗡️🔪🔫: view-thread/3466787 FlickerCoC Ice Nova / Spear Assassin: view-thread/3225536 🔨⚡CWC Lightning Conduit Mjolner Trickster: view-thread/3300148 VD Arcanist Brand Necro: view-thread/2911667 Last edited by primaeva#0673 on Jan 15, 2014, 11:55:37 AM
