" The answer to your question is absolutely nothing. The fact is that in saying "my nose will grow now" Pinnochio is neither stating a truth nor a lie. Miss Veronica Smartypants had this all wrong. The statement "my nose will grow now" is in fact either a clear and very poor attempt to make a prediction, proving only that Pinnochio is an extremely poor prognosticator or that he premised the statement on the last thing he said prior to saying "my nose will grow now" in which case he is a simpleton and a very poor judge of the truth. Moreover in either case if Pinnnochio believed his nose would grow and that his statement was true then he cannot have lied. Merely stating an incorrect fact is not lying it's just being stupid a crime for which the Blue Fairy held him to be completely harmless or his nose would have incessantly grown and he soon would have been a tree with legs as he was clearly a very stupid little boy. On the other hand if he believed that he was lying when he said "my nose will grow now" in order to intentionally grow his nose for mere entertainment or to prove his proboscis prowess it would be an intentional manipulation of what was supposed to be an awareness creating punishment and no self respecting Blue Fairy is going to allow that! Lastly we must keep in mind that at the end of the story (which has already occurred) Pinnochio is changed to a boy and he can lie all he wants without any fear of being mistaken for Cyrano de Bergerac at all. Now please stop picking at this nose thing and go wash your hands. We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light. I use to worry about Hardlicker coming after me. But after that long ass flight just to get America and another to cross the nation, I figure he will have forgotten why he was coming in the first place.
Just to be sure, I keep an emergency supply of whiskey to distract him. |

Good morning people. I missed you guys too.
The silly season means random people like my best friends and siblings feel they need to hang out with myself and my family. Which cuts into my wasting time on the internet. As much as I love having people over, I also really need my space. Looking forward to the new year when everything goes back into a routine. I will be addressing my name in the next installment of ask Dr Hardlicker, just as soon as I get a couple more questions from new people, or I might just let the thread die of natural causes i.e. lack of interest.
