HP cluster on the right side of the tree (around acrobatics)
Even with all the life I got from this build, I still died to Cruel Kole's whip-pull critting me in Nemesis.

I had around 2.5k life when I died, most of my items giving +50 or more flat life. My Keystone Ideas: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/744282

@Moosifer
That was part of what I was hinting at... although I didn't factor either low life or ES in there because I was considering how a new player with a shadow would deal with chaos damage and status effects (like stun). Since saying grab a shavronne's is both far to expensive and high level to demand something to work I narrowed the leveling up aspect to stacking life and CI... and since CI is still far more then pretty much any new player can expect to afford (since good es is sorta hard to get until a certain point) that is why I still feel that pretty much all classes need access to at least a certain amount of hp gain. And that leaves me feeling that simply bridging these nodes may end up feeling like a bandage over a much larger issue with HP and incoming damage in general at the higher levels. edit - another reason I won't consider those uniques is that while I have no issue with supporter created uniques enabling fringe builds... I will never accept them as being required to deal with basic game mechanics central to a class' viability and as such only base expectations on baseline functionality according to GGG created material. " Are you sure about that anu? I mean, are you sure he didn't actually slam you while desynced or something? I have my doubts about the whip doing >2500 damage in cruel. I just tested with a character who has 46 armour. The scorpion chain did roughly 300 damage, one time it did about 400, I'm guessing that one was a crit. The slam did about 1400 damage. So he would need an insane crit multi to one-shot you with the chain, given that the monster base multi is 130% I think. Last edited by Malice#2426 on Dec 29, 2013, 2:24:54 PM

" Is this passive-aggressive behavior really necessary? The majority of your posts are constructive and helpful but a (relatively) large portion of them are these estrogen-fueled comments. Just let the kids have their fun and ignore/warn them if necessary. Grow up, sheesh. On-topic (kind of, it was originally about the life cluster): I think this highlights another problem, namely the lack of life nodes on the shadow tree pretty much forcing you to take both these clusters. Most of my builds end up being Scions, Templars and sometimes Witches and if you look at the skill tree for far too long each day like me (no-life reporting in!) trying to figure out your next build, some hidden synergies, unique paths to take etc. it immediately becomes apparent that the vast majority of builds done 'optimally' require you to be a Scion. Another amount of builds will require you to be Templar, Witch or maybe even the Marauder/Duelist but definitely not a Shadow or Ranger save for a select few builds. How I see the classes (opinion): Scion: everything except for maybe some builds that stack endurance charges and IR/US. Templar: quite a bit, typically builds that rely on elemental damage (especially elemental weapon damage) and/or AoE. Witch: spells/summoning. Duelist: physical (melee) damage. Marauder: not much actually, melee damage or full life/charges builds. Ranger: bow, some very specific BoR/melee builds maybe Shadow: ???? I don't even know, CI crit dagger with cast on crit? I would like to play a shadow or ranger for thematic/lore/forward-head-posture reasons (plus I can't fucking stand the voice acting for witch, it really bothers me) but every time I try to make a shadow build the words 'Scion does this better' echo in my head. Maybe that's just my lack of creativity or inexperience, but a lot of people seem to be having the same problem so maybe it's not just me. I feel like the Scion is overcentralizing. I've made a topic about this before but if I learned anything about online forums it's that those kind of topics get shot down immediately because nobody really cares (because really, what's more interesting to complain about - voidbearers or vaal smash, things that actually affect you, or things such as a certain character having an easier time in the skill tree which doesn't really matter - you can just pick that character?). Shadows are the best trappers...
I'm of the opinion that the lifewheel by scion makes the central part of the tree way to attractive and scion way too good at everything (hey 50% of the life you need in a build concentrated to one area, AWESOME) and should have been the third defence (an armour wheel with good efficiency would be nice). Shadow is just a little schizophrenic. Nobody does Es/HP builds, and even if they did (which shadow naturally gravitates towards if you look at it) there's not enough HP in the shadow area to actually get the stats to flourish. Oh and those caster stats? Yah they're at odds with the attack focus of the skill handouts, which are light on actual spells. Shadow needs a bit stronger life support, and claws / ghost reaver needs to be cleaned up to less heavily favor CI. Mana Leech = ES steal was one thing I've seen that looked good, or 50% of life leech applies to energy shield. In a Life/Es build (actual hybrid armour please?) that would essentially halve leech in exchange for double leech rate. Isn't this thread supposed to be about how annoying those little life tails are by ranger though? IGN - PlutoChthon, Talvathir

You sure still have a long way to go about couple of things from what I just read I guess ( didn't read the part removed by admin before it was, I guess it has something to do with it, so I didn't know there was something about me until now ).
That's prolly gonna be my single participation about this matter here, too much pointless off-topic already. Feel free to continue your "whatever-this-is" session if it pleases you. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Dec 29, 2013, 9:43:12 PM

" People do: Aegis Aurora builds are among the tankiest in the game. Sadly the Shadow isn't even that great at that. Beyond league.
