False Sense of Entitlement
" People who play for free and bash people for giving money to GGG are just as bad. I don't expect any advantage or worship for having given money to GGG. I got early access, my goodies in the mail, my kiwi and GGGold. I'm happy with that trade because I think GGG is a great company. No feelings of entitlement here - I could just have easily paid nothing and waited for Open Beta if I wanted. Of course, I would love it if everyone gave at least some money to GGG so that the game lasts longer but I appreciate not everyone will or can. Fine by me. I will play this game for a long time - mainly solo - and I will enjoy it. I will answer questions from new and old players regardless of their badge in the forum if I have the time and knowledge. I have no axe to grind with anyone. That is all. There has to be a low point where some people stop complaining because it's just not worth it, and I have yet to see it. - Squeakypaw, 2013 Last edited by obadonke#0693 on Jan 23, 2013, 6:03:24 PM

" While the philosophy is good, it's not exactly accurate, mentioning the wallet warriors, seeing as to how there's no pay to win in PoE. I've seen them... and they've seen me.

" i noticed this for Path of Exile but for most games i have played *and its partly my fault because they were good games at core just didnt see the cash shop.* that to often whether it be P2W or not some people get this sense of entitlement to feel like they should be better then everyone else because they can throw money at the game and alas i cannot. yes they are not the majority of people who put money up front to the developers but it seems mostly at the for front i see the ones who scream and wail to be pampered and treated special because they put 1k dollars into the game. im sorry but i dont see anyone who spends money to be more then someone who doesnt. how ever this does not mean that i wont from time to time dependent on a game that i truly love i WONT fork over some money to say thanks for supplying a great game. i just think for those who feel like their money should make them gods among men should really pound sand and to those payers who are respectable *which i have met some* and really work towards having fun and a good community i rarely see them speak up. why? because they are to god damn busy playing and enjoying the game to give a damn. |

" I think your trying to turn this around. If i remember right could be wrong. You were complaining saying TABS are pay to win or was it cosmetics are to expensive. Either way pretty sure I seen you in the other flame thread earlier and complaining about tabs being P2W lol. I mean in a game like this thats great, it's free without xp scrolls power ups you were kinda bringing it on yourself. I was not really bashing you but just saying in the thread earlier in general it's kinda unbelievable people actually complain about this game and the paid items in the shop. " Credit card warriors? The game is F2P. Your money will not increase your power. I think you may have the wrong end of the stick. |

For as long as this game is free to play (may it be forever and a day), anyone, regardless of financial contribution, has precisely the same rights and privileges on these boards as anyone else.
I've probated diamonds before. And I've recommended non-supporters for moderator status. I really don't care how much or how little you've put in money-wise. If you're civil, considerate and at least slightly objective in your posts, I've no beef. And this happens to go for, oh, 99.999% of the population. Which is why I'm still a willing and happy volunteer moderator. If you have a problem with any poster, Video, you can always PM myself, another mod or Support with your issues and we'll do our best to ensure the matter is appropriately handled. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. |

Because it's human nature.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

I haven't been here as long as some of the supporters, but the most important bits on information that I learned about the game came from the forum. Before I even played the game, I knew that this game wasn't going to give me any room, and so I took to reading the FAQ, mechanics guide, and how the skills and game play worked. I then when into the lore, just because I love me some backstory.
I then went through the gruelling task of finding a viable build. I ended up making a summoner build that was very similar to the cookie cutter summoner build today. I was able to ask small questions in HC global chat, and what wasn't small, I took to using the search function. I made sure I earned every level. I must have heard 'how to link items' at least a few hundred times today. But that just comes with influx of new people. I'm sure I had to ask global how to link items. " Meh, there hasn't actually been a noticeable sense of entitlement from any diamonds that I've seen. Mainly just silver and below, I'd say. If you're willing to throw that much money at a game, that's truly saying that you care about the game. Not just the perks of the pack. Though, if there were anyone in PoE that I'r think has earned the right to a little entitlement, it's reaper. He's like a 5x + diamond supporter. That is truly impressive dedication. I've seen them... and they've seen me.
