Trade /stall Feature - Suggestion

where you can go into a trade interface mode where your character turns into a hello kitty doll on a pole and people can buy and sell from you. While in this mode you can't really do anything at all...not even move.

Why is this so hilarious?
No, it's not alright even if "a little bit" is automated, because people will just make scripts to completely automate trade then.

If trading becomes impersonal, it becomes an auction house. Because of the way this game works, impersonal trading makes trading WAY TOO EASY and it results in the reduction in the price of goods and it results in trivializing parts of the game. POE should never have any kind of automated trade. You should always have to interact and barter with someone.

Secondly, it would be cumbersome to properly implement automated trade. You'd have to set a specific price for your item, like 6 GCP -- which constricts trade. You'd have to make automated trade accept 6 GCPs worth of alechmies and transmutes, but that amount is not predefined, so you'd have to ask the user to set up an entire chart of what they think is a fair equivalency.

Trading SHOULD ALWAYS BE PERSONAL.

Forsaken world had this. It wasn't a horrible feature, but then one location naturally becomes dedicated to hosting all the stalls and becomes usable because there are stalls EVERYWHERE.

Given that even towns become instanced with enough people, I don't see something like this being put in the game.
IMPORTANT: Whisper / pm me if I've been outbid, otherwise I'll have no way of knowing.

buying 18%+ aura gems! yeah, someone actually wants them! (paying more than vendor too!)

I was thinking about something like a posting board

You post up your item, other people can search by type or socets or whatever and they get the option to contact ypu, sice you have to agree on trade for, because there is no money.
It's not like AH exactly, but it would make looking for items and contacting other people with desired items easier.

i dread the spam on trade chat and trying to find an item in all that and this would fix it. It could be accesible through the town board.

If trading demands ingame interaction, instead of making use from the possibilities of the (available!) web-based access at your stuff, it will be much too annoying to trade; and it should be as easy as possible to force trades.

Like it is now, it is much too complicated to make and finish a deal: you have to find a spot in time to be together online with your trade partner - with every single partner you want to trade. Now imagine, there are people that live in a time zone differing 12 hours from yours -you may need to wait for a weekend just to be able to come close to meet...

My opinion: Trades must be as quick as possible, I dont want to wait days or even longer to sell an item - and even more I dont want to have to wait much time for an item I may need now.

After all, sort of oflline trading is already going on in forums. People list items, tell the price or even starts a biding. I dont really see much diference in that and AH. The only diference, you have to contact player in game if you purchase an item instead of doing it impersonally (independantly). So, I guess its a good idea to implement some sort of trade forum or board ingame, cause not many people are using website forums, specially for trading.
Would appreciate if someone would explain me more about the difference of current trade system on forums and AH, despite its fully automated and easy to find particalar gear functions.

Also using the forums as a trading place indicates a lot of useless effort - making a screenshot, posting it on forums or smth. Making it an in-game option would make it easier for players to post new items for trading.

The personal contact would still be there since you would need to talk to that person who posted an item to negociate the "price"

You can easily 'link' your items into postings, you know? Sadly, its not possible to do the same in PM's yet - not even manually 'by hand' (copying from a posting)

To have a viable system for a RL world with 24 different timezones, its a must to have an offline (means the player/players dont have to be online/ingame) trade mechanic, that has to affect the ingame world too.

you mean in-game ? in chat? imagine browsing through the chat looking for an item in thousands posted.
And the forums? I don't want to be forced to trade inf forums and it's still not searchable. i'd still have to go manually through pages and pages of post, just to find an item, and mostly find the post outdated anyway.

This is bad. A searchable board in-game would serve simmilar goals as the forums, but would be more user friendly without being any less personal than forums. You still need to talk to the person that posted an item but it is much easier for you to find that item and that person!

Board+ability to leave offline messages + maybe a mailbox trade system.
