Was wondering what level ranges Quill Rain + Broadstroke would be most effective in. Debating on if I should invest currency items on these.

I'm using them currently but I don't know if its effective currently at lvl 34.

My Spork totem witch seemed a lot easier than this build in both parties/solo and boss. I really don't see how this can be HC build without being heavily gear dependent. It's very dangerous facing ranged enemies without increased projectile speed.

that's why you need faster projectiles and a wand with increased % projectile speed

I am loving EK!

I just said I am using Quill Rain + Broadstroke that gives me 100% increased projectile and 30% physical dmg increase.

Just saying for the amount of currency there are other builds that seem more powerful. At least for now. Like regen tank mara for HC is great xD.
Because chain only adds 2 total chain jumps in total meaning 2 of the many knives get to jump once each, or one knife gets to jump two times, wouldn't Chain be very inefficient when used in conjunction with an ability that already fires many projectiles?

It seems to me that the most efficient skills to use with Chain are hard-hitting single-projectile skills so that chain effectively triples its damage (this is not really accurate but as a very rough estimate it can be accepted).

1 projectile + 2 chain jumps = 3 projectiles => 3/1 = 300% of the original projectile number.

With Ethereal Knives you have 9 projectiles + 2 chain jumps total = 11 projectiles => 11/9 ~= 122% of the original projectile number.

So let me know if Chain doesn't work this way, but I read through some threads that claimed to have tested Chain extensively and arrived at the conclusion that only 2 jumps in total are added to a single skill use, regardless of the number of projectiles the skill generates initially.

I think Fork could be ridiculously efficient with Ethereal Knives, or some other support gem that gives more than a ~22% increase.

Just me thinking~~ I would love to know why Chain is good with Ethereal knives but I can't see it.
The Analytical Engine has no pretensions whatever to originate anything. It can do whatever we know how to order it to perform.

Well shootsiedoodles. That surprises me as it goes against my observations on my ranger and those threads I read. If this is true then WOW chain is OP.

well right know i dont use chain i still use fork cause it does way more dps then chain does only thing im having trouble with is surviability lvl 75 right know
Hey Guys new player here.

I have played the game through to cruel act 3, so I understand the basic mechanics, all my friends play HC and I have decided to make a HC character ( and a few more when they die lol)

my question is, does this build work well in groups I want to make a shadow character as I like the model and initial play style but all the other builds that I can see are either not HC viable or require such good initial gear that its too hard for a newbie like me.

I know that EK on the surface is too mana intensive but if I specced in blood magic would it combat this problem.

Any help advice or even alternative builds would be greatly received
Anyone manage to get a 5L chest yet that works with EK builds? I find it impossible to find a chest to buy with GGGGR and not being evasion.

I'm considering leveling a new character with Byrr's build just so I could get iron reflexes because I've got the same problem T.T
I prefer this passive build to the other.
Just try a 5L armour with RRRGG and use EK-FasterProj-IronWill-AddedFire-LifeLeech

I need some advice for my EK Shadow. My equip right now looks like that:

EK-Shadow LvL52 Act III Cruel

Spoiler

Life: 1553 ES: 116 Mana: 475

Using: Faster Proc - Mana Leech - Added Fire - EK

I don't use fork... it seems that faster proctiles works better for me.

I got Magnate today after i sold a chain gem for 5 gcp. I got it for 3 gcp. The hugh increase in DPS is awesome and right now i'm sitting on: ~1200 dps - i think that is fine for this lvl and gear -. I'm using Hatred and Grace due to the low mana pool.

My question is, how should i improve my gear? I know better boots, but i love that 20% movement speed. I'm sure that saved my life several times.

I think more Life and Mana? Or should i get more Armour and ES Gear? - It's hard to find something with the proper Sockets =/

Gems Links:

Chest: EK - Added Fire Damage - Faster Project - Mana Leech
Helm: Vitality - Determination - Hatred - Reduced Mana
Gloves: Temporal Chains - Inc. Duration - Forst Wall
Boots: Bear Trap - Culling Strikes - Added Fire Damage ( Project Weakness is just there due to a lack of sockets )

Any ideas? Do you think i can manage to get through act III with this stuff =/?
