Will the desync ever be fixed?

It can be found here if you scroll down, its one of the larger posts.

And no desync isn't going to get fixed, the devs are too idealistic/utopian/naive in their views, they will rather have everyone pay the price by having much lower gameplay quality than that some individuals should potentially cheat and maybe even influence the economy! :D

I thought we were past the days of online protection which severely reduced gameplay quality, but now with this desync it seems to have become even worse.

Muhahaa, wanted to say that for a while because it's fucking true. Classic example of utopian thinking which in theory is 100% ideal but in reality cannot happen as desired and so to continue to believe it is naive by definition.

Really i don't know enough about programming to say the above, but it is either that or that they made such a mess of the programming that they have no idea where they messed up.

Spoken, as usual, with utter incompetence. HEY PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!! If Activision/Blizzard (one of the biggest gaming companies in the world) cant fix desynch in their ARPG's. How exactly is GGG gonna do it. Desynch is, by nature, always going to exist in arpg's. It has to do with routing info back and forth from your pc to their server. So below I will detail the REAL fix for desynch.

HOW TO FIX DESYNCH: Step 1 - STOP PLAYING ARPG's
Step 2 - Profit???

That's the only way to fix it. Stop whining about desynch, or don't play hardcore.
LOL. Sorta true. It can't be fixed only improved (minimized).
Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins.

Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. I wish the office were empty right now :(

Hardlicker - I had to push the dog out of the way so I could get to the sexy quilt.

Bye
This guy must work for GGG. That is the exact attitude they take. It WILL be the death of this game.
In another thread they are claiming RMT will destroy PoE. I wish people would make up their collective minds :)

They could easily fix it by making this a single player game.
No it won't. They'd have to rebuild the whole game engine...which they simply won't do.

If you read all of the Dev responses from the technical desync thread that has like 150 pages now...it's obvious they have no desire, intention, or will to fix desync.

No solution is desync proof and they feel that the work required to get a minimal improvement for desync isn't worth it.

I don't know if I agree or disagree...but that's how it is.

Maybe, just maybe, a combination of these sorts of issues will ensure PoE retains a small by zealous playerbase.

And if it was the other way around, people would complain about how exploited this game is, or how limited/shallow it is. It's a non-winning battle. I prefer the current system, mainly because I don't desync nearly as much as others do (I have a stable low-speed DSL connection on the east coast and do nothing in-game to prevent desync; meanwhile there are people who have a /oos macro going off every second and still aren't satisfied somehow).

I'm thinking people experiencing large desync issues can definitely lessen it on their end, but it's much easier to just blame the game :p

I have a build specifically designed to counter desync and i almost never experience it(ranged character that slows monsters with arctic armour and temporal chains, cannot be stunned or frozen etc), but i can't exactly blind myself to the fact that it is heavily reducing overall game quality.

Shall i reply in your own ways of thinking?

In that case yours is spoken like a true fanboy. Hihihih.

I'll take some cheaters anyday over making the game unstable/broken for everyone. It is not like there is nothing that can be done against cheaters if the client was trusted for many actions.

I think they originally developed the whole system to work in their office with next to no latency instead of adjusting it from the beginning to work with latency, and changing it back is massively complex now that they have build upon what was seemingly a working foundation.

This x10000...

GGG has always thought they were "smarter than everyone else"...

You can tell with the way they responded when people brought up critique about some of the game's more "idiotic" mechanics...

Which relates in a way to their "desync" problem... They're too arrogant and stubborn, and they'll pay for it when enough people get completely fed up with this game which seems to run on 1995 AOL.

3+ years of his shit in Alpha/Beta... Now release and it's just as bad if not worse.

Pretty soon this game is gonna be nothing but the 100 dudes who have the most "Forum Supporter Titles" talking about how good and hardcore this game is because it desync and that's a feature...

Numbers are already showing this decline... It was happening in beta as well when it went OB, but the release stopped that "spike" and now it's starting all over again.

But w/e... They'll let their arrogance or incompentence kill their game, because they refuse to or can't fix a pathetic fundamental flaw with their game. Something so pathetic you don't even see notoriously "shitty" developers release game's with a problem so bad.
