What Games Are You Playing Currently?

gotcha, thanks for that.

i just picked up Dragon Age on steam sale today so I think I'm prolly gonna pass on SC2 for a bit still. Plus, Brink comes out in a week, and that game looks pretty fun, like if Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Borderlands got together and had a fling...........

SC2 is a fun game, I have it and beat it and played some multiplayer with friends. After awhile though, I got bored. Also, like most RTS, the "tactics" usually boil down to "cheapest way to rush possible" at least in the lower brackets, and I don't have time to become a professional at a video game anymore.

Happy hunting/fishing
Yes its true though playing lower brackets isn't bad. I'm not that good if you want a match. It feels like people take games to seriously i understand mastering a game, but having your first 15 minutes planned out before a match doens't sound that fun.
Yes good sir, I enjoy slaying mythical creatures.
Iv had sc2 since day one. Sadly still going to have to wait another year before actual good custom maps start coming out : (. They were the only fun part about WC3. It was like a game with millions of games inside.

Don't worry, Rusty. Blizzard DoTa will be out Soon™.

@Zidjian:
Is having the first few minutes of the game planned out really that different from planning out where all of a character's skill and stat points are going to go each level in Diablo 2 before you even start that character?

@Wittgenstein:
Pretty much any strategy game where there is mechanical skill in executing strategies will have that problem. In fact, it's not just in the lower brackets in SC2. Strategies which are easier to execute than they are to stop are common at all levels of play, because there's plenty of people who like winning, regardless of how they do it.

@kingfooe:
Yeah, Brink looks awesome. It's too bad that most games with first person perspectives make me motion sick.
Never really got into that aspect. I'm not saying that it's wrong, but i would rather try something new each time and experiment around. I enjoy SC2, but it's true a lot of strategy is bum rushing. I just think that the spirit of the game is lost when you get too much depth. If making excel sheets to win your victories is your thing go ahead, but I don't see the appeal.

true, and if it's too balanced too.
I enjoyed W3 a lot, even though a lot off ppl were bashing it as unbalanced and so on.
You couldn't be 100% sure what to expect all the time. Game could turn in/out of your favor in every second.
A bit of randomness, less dependency on resources thx to upkeep system, and forcing ppl to move their forces (creeps) not stockpiling them in the base made it awesome to play and comebacks from some shit situations wasn't so rare.
SC2 sux with that tbh and it's extremely boring in teams.

That's why I dropped it after about 2 months of playing.
Lol I never played dota.. Got hon for that. I played a lot of metastatus,enfos and civ wars however. Island troll tribes was kind of interesting also.
