How does Hellgate stack up? Worth revisiting?
Spare yourself the pain! I don't know what they did in those 2 years they were "working" on it. I didn't play HGL online a lot back in the days but it felt immensely better.

Right now you've got your standard Asian F2P MMO feeling (just with a HGL theme). The translation is horrible and the servers apparently still highly unstable.

If you're itching for a bit of Hellgate gaming install the original game again.

That's a cryin' shame. Hellgate: London was such a good laugh. Bit buggy to begin with, especially with that infamous memory leak of doom before the patches sorted it out, but I must have played it on and off for four years. Sounds like I'll give the sequal a miss for now. Was considering it.

Still playing D2 too!
Hellgate

having a blast when playing with friends, trying to get my old Marksman Sniperbuild with sniperrifle back online, and my Luck-guard. But this time i chose for a Luckbladian. Blademaster with vorpals and fishers, and no blades for him.

The corespirit of Hellgate is the same. Clicky-clicky , kill mobs, get stronger.
Evrything else got changed, bigger levels, items got different lvlrequrements. The Questchains. Stations are connected differently. More Bossmonsters. Epic-violett Miniboss when you kill a fixed amount of monsters in a level. Way more loot-dropps. Auto-dissembler.
The changes are too numberus if i go into detail.

The good part is they introduced a ticketsystem, without you cant get past act2. So every Jobless 24hour-gaming-bandwithwastingnerd-without-money is locked out of the game.

Servers need a patch, getting 100k lagspikes, americans cant host servers.
But im unsure if this could be a win7 problem.

Anyone see the new game coming out on the 27th of July called 'From Dust'.

Looks pretty epic - reminds me of B&W 1 and 2.

Check it out:

I'm currently trying out Team Fortress 2.

Not sure yet if it's my kind of game yet; it a little odd getting used to shooting with a mouse, I've only ever played shooters on my ps3.

Nightblaze1, thanks for sharing that game, it does look pretty cool...
I love lamp

Hey, me too. The game itself seems to be great, but because it's free now there is a lot of random people who try to play it like a deathmatch. Success is impossible without teamwork- all Soldiers and Heavy's is not much of a squad.

As for shooting with a mouse- I prefer gamepad in action games, too. Oldschool RPG's(or action RPG's), RTS and adventure games are only genres I really enjoy on PC.

Today i finished God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta. Great hack'n'slash action, stunning graphics(not "for a portable"-just stunning), memorable music. Somewhat incoherent plot, compared to home console games from the series. Definitely worth playing. I would recommend it to every adult owner of PSP. Main storyline is not very long, but there is some bonus content to unlock and beat.

Right now I'm playing Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, also for PSP. Great stealth gameplay with additional army management features. Plays nice, but can be very punishing(I'm very familiar with the series, but I kept repeating whole missions). Structure of levels is well suited for portable gaming. Controls suprisingly well. Found some glitches(unusual for the series).

Recently I was playing mostly NDS games. There are true gems out there. I strongly recommend New Super Mario Bros to everyone. Brilliant platformer, lots of fun. Super Mario 64 DS controls are a bit cumbersome without an analog stick, though.

Anybody who enjoys japanese RPG games should check out The World Ends With You. I loved it. Original gameplay, crazy story and cool soundtrack.
