Display driver has stopped working and has recoverd succesfully
I don't see much issue there.
Have you tried downgrading your video driver to a prior version? I know sometimes newer drivers can have certain problems. Also make sure you clean the old/current drivers before installing new (or old) ones. |

I have uninstalled my graphics driver completely. With a program i remove all old driver remains. There everything was clean, no more residues.
Then I installed an older driver version. This version I had before. Since PoE still worked without incidents. The thought of you was meant well, but it has not helped. The error still happens again. >"Display driver has stopped working and has recovered successfully"< Do you have another idea, what can I do? |

Short of attempting to re-install your OS, not really. Sorry.

I've done everything in my ability to solve this. (which is pretty extensive...)
I can't fix this. I know it's Path of Exile. It's the only unstable variable. I can still play but I don't dare try to play Hardcore until this is resolved. |

For me, this problem exists even in Poe.
Other games work flawlessly. Can it be that one of the patches is responsible? Before the full version release everything still worked. I hope there will soon be a solution. |

If there were a problem with the patch, you'd know it.
When problems happen with the patch that affects a lot of people, the forums get flooded with people reporting the problem. Currently that isn't the case. That isn't to say that the patch might have done something specific to your configuration to cause a problem, but overall, there is no problem with the patch specifically as countless people have no issues. |

I believe I have found a solution finally!
I have to force the game via NVIDIA control panel to run Vsync (using the option ingame does nothing at all.) The game is still a massive resource hog and eats 100% CPU on all 4 cores, but it doesn't crash now at least. I also clicked the option for improved compatibility with threading OFF (multiple cores) in NVIDIA Control Panel. I'm sure AMD has an equivalent feature/profile set for specific programs. If I had to make a guess it was the Threaded Optimization that I turned off via NVIDIA CP. Last edited by HarrisonOwns#1675 on Nov 24, 2013, 6:15:49 AM

Sorry to dig up the old post.
I had similar issue and tried most of the fixes here, now the problem seems to be gone so I would like to kind of log what I did here. Card: a brand new MSI Geforce 750TI Symptoms: Able to play a bit but randomly goes black screen for a few seconds and then back to normal, while windows says the display driver stopped responding and has recovered, sometimes accompanied by a disconnect to the game login screen. The irony is that the display card has a gift card for POE, but when you play it the game crashes. It's strange that I can play even Watch_dog but had problems with POE. Here are all the solutions that I am using at the same time: Turn all display option except resolution to lowest in game In nVidia control center, set the power option and the thread optimization like the posts here suggested. I know I should have tried the options one by one to scientifically isolate out which one is really the solution. But I am now busy playing the game. So, good luck, future fellow solution seeker. :D |
