345 new Vendor Formulas: A suggestion for actually *crafting* gear

The last two replies were really non-sequitirs. Especially Teridax's utterly unreleated Souls idea. And Veta, although I understand there is a lot of potential design space in vendor formulas, I'd like to keep this suggestion focused on the ones suggested in the OP.

You're right, here's a free bump. I'll maybe turn that post into its own suggestion some time.

Nothing short of brilliant. A well thought out post as usual from Scrotie. I really like the idea of any piece of gear that lands on the ground being usable in a recipe. However I suggest that instead of a transmute, these recipes require an augment orb.

The reason being is that these new recipes overshadow one of the pre-existing recipes: 5-of-a-kind vendor recipe. Spending 5 rare armors for a single new rare is a lot more costly than 2 rare armors and a transmute. An augment is at least a bit more expensive than a transmute.

Good job in how much effort you put in in this idea.

I give you a +1, because this would really improve my gaming experience, while shitty rares would finaly be worth something.

The orb used is really kind of arbitrary; the point of it is to prevent accidental use, so when you're selling a bunch of gear for Alteration shards you don't wind up with some new armour piece by accident. During a draft of the OP, at one point it wasn't Transmutations, but instead Armourer's Scraps, which might be a better fit. In any case, that part of the formula is very adjustable.

No issue at all with more vendor recipes.
More crafting control and more recipe is always welcome.

Implementation issue speculation

I wonder if GGG would have to hardcode the 345 recipe.

For the level 20% gem recipe, I would believe they did not make a code specifically for each gem.

Do you think the formula could be simplified to a more generic form.
"All of these formulas would give rare output if two rares are used as inputs, and magic output if two magic items are used as inputs."

How this would work with the exclusive defence mods (I mean ES in ES' armours, and so on)?
Hi there,

absolutely in favor of this idea. Very good concept that would really enable people to actually use all the trash item found and make something out of it other than shards for currency.

If adding this much recipe in the game would ever happen though would love to see a recipe menu to help see or automate the vendoring and crafting process. Maybe listing only the one you unlocked (like the achievements in Domination League right now).

Hope dev will pick on this the make this game more awesome than it is now.
