So, how big of a flop were Animated Guardian and Animated Weapon?
maybe animate weapon would be better if item were not to be perma consumed XD It would be sooo OP but it would be fun :)

I like animated weapon quite a bit. My pure summoner (that I only play in a party) didn't have anything socketed in her weapon, I would just put random stuff in there to level or play with. I linked it with minion life and increased duration and with all the party auras they do enough to provide a noticeable benefit. I use arc witch spectres usually and they get killed a lot less often now that the floaty weapons are around to distract the monsters that got through the zombie+skeleton line to them. Also the spell gives me another thing to do in battle.
Animated guardian is just silly as it is now. It is way too aggressive and has way too little life. No matter how much stuff I link to it still just dies before any zombies do. Makes me sad because I really loved the iron golem in d2 and thought this was gonna be a cool take on it. As is if I wasn't pure summoner I wouldn't bother assigning a button to it. Hope they work on it and make it worth while. When I kill a man he stays dead.

You can theoretically give the guardian 5 slots of life gear and make him pretty tanky >.>

Animate Weapon is a great skill when fighting Perptus and can give you an unfair advantage when fighting some rogue exiles.

My major issue with Guardian is the stupid thing runs off into the countryside trying to suicide constantly. If they made it stick close like the zombies it would be a lot better.
Typically, if I find a bunch of same-level ES gear and I give it a shield and a claw I can get it to stay alive for awhile. I imagine if I ran pure summoner build with Rejuv totem and vitality it would be able to survive in maps and stuff, but some of the spike damage really rips through minions. Like I said though, they need to fix the damn AI so it doesn't ride off into the sunset. Then it might be okay. Team Won

I am an auramancer. Maybe I could consider adding it to my build again once I get fully into working order. The more auras I get, the more potentially powerful these weapons get after all.
Guardian is completely non-viable. I used to be specced with full minion life and damage and that thing died even when I had it six linked to my tabula resa (Resistance, Life, Damage, Leech, Weapon Elemental Damage, Guardian.) A scion may be born of the rich, and as such hold more opportunity...
but a scion will never be able to appreciate the finer beauty of those less fortunate. |

This thread prompted me to start a an Animate Weapon/Guardian character, but I had to put it on hold because of the problem with alt pickup. That needs to be fixed immediately.
