[Nemesis] (HC) BOjangles life/VP/RT/IR/IG magic find ranger
" like he said try to always match the resist against what you are fighting. beginning with cruel act3 i start trying to match resist evenly for 55+ gearwise im always picking up hp+resist gear no matter what the other stats on it are. also im focusing more on armor/evasion or pure armor gear since with the iron reflexes keystone is shit anyways. biggest threats without something where you can keep stuff away from you (spelltotem + skeletons or beartraps) are fast moving rares/uniques and ive been struggling with exiles depending on which one i encounter the hardest definately was the one i just encountered forgot the name but he had some sort of leap slam a 2hander sword equipped and was slowing me with some sort of either ice dmg or aura. had to use beartraps for him since he simply oneshot my skele totem by jumping on it. also when fightting hard mobs that are melee and have some sort of ability to come quickly to you try using molten shell if you can it always gives you a little armor boost for when he hits you(99% of the figts ill do without i have it though just in case youll never know) this all may sound alot or mind boggling for someone new to a ranger but i thought the same when i first played this (my first ranger too ^^) but once you get the hang of it and learn what to do with what sort of mobs its super easy. /edit oh another mod that was atleast for me sometimes a pain is when they have the "camouflaged" nemesis mod because i kept missing them so much what in turn meant that my life leech didnt apply as often and i sometimes had to run for my virtual life, that stopped to be a problem as soon as i found a good enoughe bow. Thank you both for the comments, just upgraded the bow, still strugling to get the better out of skills as I still need quite a few of support ones.
I'm atm farming catacombs (just pinged 31 and it's a place I like as it's easily cleared) still with split and frenzy, trying to balance resis but quite close to enough hp to just facetank whatever I find now, using bear trap and shockwave to distract if needed but I got some very nice 1h axe and shield rares that boost resis almost to max and nice eva overall and I still deal a surprising amount of LS damage (around 70% of the dps I get with frenzy, crazy) so if I see myself running a bit too much I just X and deal with them. So far the ones that were a pain were the guys in marketplace that have flickr+nova, if they get a nice mod they just jump on you nova nova and you are so low it's scary, even the normal ones are noticeably strong, but hey, still can one-two shot them so, not biggie and having to micro a bit is good for reflexes anyway. A question aboout the 2 +30 int, str you picked before 40, are those picks to be able to use any skill? |

Yeah, all of the +30 nodes I go by you should consider picking up, just depending on what you are currently needing. I picked most of the int ones up so that I could level up the two rarity gems in these items,
Spoiler
I am leveling both of them because of the recipe to sell a lvl 20 gem and a to forge a 20 quality of the same skill gem. Enjoys helping new players and shooting people in the face!

So better just go through the tree until I need some extra int-str then pick one of the big nodes, makes sense.

I was doing great, found a bit of a gear-gem-wall in Cruel act2 to 3... There you need a bit more of punch, mana leech and some higher dps.
As my first char in Nemesis I lacked leveling gear and upgrades so I was doing fine on HP and Resis but my dps couldn't be sustained by low mana pool. I said was because I died in City of Sarn, Perpetus (who I was trying to avoid) trapped me in a mini desync and that was it... I will still play the ranger in st as I can upgrade her properly and I was enjoying it very much, but for now I'll raise my facebreaker infernal blow beast. Thanks for the guide, for the orientation and comments! |

No problem man =) I'm just trying to help out new players and get more people running MF like d2. I'll be posting my life based auramancer MFer (witch) build soon.
Are you running spell totem+summon skeletons yet? if you have 3L blind or faster casting is a good addition. Yeah leveling multiple characters is a great way to save currency and find more gear! Enjoys helping new players and shooting people in the face!

Yeah I died at 78 and was too depressed to announce it lol. I got jumped by a blue devourer pack running lvl 70 something maps.
I have a level 75 necro witch plus a 50 duelist that is the exact same ranger build I was running before. I think with the new gems they added the physical dmg builds will be alot better. I will attempt to add my duelist start soon; however, its pretty much the ranger one except minor tweaks to the starting levels. Enjoys helping new players and shooting people in the face!
