(Nov 18) Two-hour Party Hardcore Ladder Race

20 min - I was third in ladder =X Problem was that I had no portal scrolls to kill brutus...
so I had to return to menu and make all the run again to endkill him...

and then I got screwed to kill merveil too with only 1 portal scroll =X

Gonna swap build to next solo race, defnly.

Gotta work in my lvl 10-15 speed. Its the part that slows me down... maybe I should save some meelee skills as templar for bosses.

too bad I had to quit in the last 30 min... gf aggro... sucks

acfually, drops werent bad at all... toob bad I wasnt meele... =(

probably if I wasnt soloing... things would be different and I would probably end up being 1rst templar, maybe first overall... bosses really slowed me down.

Only thing left to fix is the infinite portals during boss battles thing, which is as simple as making portals vanish when used by anyone instead only when used by the creator.
I can see how this portal thing could be an issue, but the truth is that no one actually uses portals to refill their flasks like that in parties unless they are massively under-geared (and the under-geared people dont need things to be made harder).

Doing this would basically turn portal scrolls into a useless item & discourage people from forming larger parties because getting the whole party to your map would cost 5 portal scrolls every time.
It would just create an un-neccessary hassle where-ever there are people who want to play the game together

The only time I ever go back to town to refill my flasks during boss fights are when I play solo (where you cant get infinite portals)

I can only see 1 real solution, which is to completely disable portal usage in boss rooms. But lets be honest, this really hurts solo players more than parties, so I don't think its a good idea to begin with.

I think you are spot on, I also think that party play makes this game significantly easier, I know that if I partied most of the time I would likely never die, it is just too easy to have dangerous situations mitigated by party members. And this applies to races and standard play.

Not only is the game easier in a party, bosses practically become a non issue whilst partying, and it just becomes too much of a bonus being in a party. Boss fights should be significantly increased whilst partying.

Actually our party always solos each boss until the last sliver of life, in which we all jump in through a portal.

The amount of HP bosses have if your entire party is in the instance is ridiculous, which is why we do it this way.

The advantages are:
1) the person killing the boss gets an infinite use portal or two, opened by someone else
2) we can invest orbs into the person killing the boss, and no one has to worry about gearing up
3) certain classes can pass by bosses much earlier and with much different skills than if they tried to solo

I think boss fights would be better as some sort of full-commit type thing, like if you think diablo 3. But that is a major difference to how it currently works.

that's interesting, but wouldn't it be safer to duo tag team a boss? Say, one guy kiting him and helping to shift boss aggro towards him while the other just attacking him and then exchanging roles whenever boss shifts aggro, etc

Once you know how to beat the bosses and have the sufficient gear, it's not about "safety" at all actually, it's all about how quickly you can kill the boss.
