Grats to Team DK...that's how you play party race.

Think I did about as well as expected for a solo player with poor drops and thats not very well at all. :)

Did get 1 Alch drop and which I saved for my lvl17 armour but in hindsight I prolly should've used it earlier on a better weapon.

Gear was pretty shite all the way through.

If you have prizes they will be on a new character on your account, the name will end with _nn.

Full results here.
Partied with Morsexier for this one, me as shadow and him as templar. The race was very uneventful- i saw Mors have one meaningless desync in an empty part of prison, i had no desyncs at all. Also no close calls for either of us. Drops were average, nothing better than chances and no strong rares but we werent lacking for basic gear, belts, flasks etc either. Merveil went down without issue and the western farming was smooth to the finish.

Both lvl 24 and 12th / 13th place in the end.

Feedback: Bosses are still far too easy in groups. Wall of numbers increases to bosses facing groups will only make the battle tedious, but i think having bosses summon blue/rare minions with type/amount depending on the amount of players present could work. Itd make the battle feel more interesting and dynamic too.

Otherwise party mechanics seem mostly balanced now; no bonus xp, more effective dps but less loot per player compared to soloing and the huge piles of rares are thankfully a thing of the past. Only thing left to fix is the infinite portals during boss battles thing, which is as simple as making portals vanish when used by anyone instead only when used by the creator.

2 hours definitely feels too short, btw. Rush to western just isnt as dangerous and skill intensive as having to hit cruel.

GG all, see you next race!

I can see how this portal thing could be an issue, but the truth is that no one actually uses portals to refill their flasks like that in parties unless they are massively under-geared (and the under-geared people dont need things to be made harder).

Doing this would basically turn portal scrolls into a useless item & discourage people from forming larger parties because getting the whole party to your map would cost 5 portal scrolls every time.
It would just create an un-neccessary hassle where-ever there are people who want to play the game together

The only time I ever go back to town to refill my flasks during boss fights are when I play solo (where you cant get infinite portals)

I can only see 1 real solution, which is to completely disable portal usage in boss rooms. But lets be honest, this really hurts solo players more than parties, so I dont think its a good idea to begin with.

Was a fairly uneventful race, I can't decide if previous to now I just had really good luck... or this time was extraordinarily bad luck but I didn't make one good mace for levels 8, 12, 17, 22.

The spiked maul at 22 was only good by virtue of 4 whetstones and over leveled the content.

I will say I found mana much more of an issue in the 2 hour race, as I had just gotten to the point where it became less of a burden as a melee\caster about 10-20 minutes before the race was over.

Is there still a flask bug? Or is that turbo only? It felt like occasionally my flasks did nothing and I was on empty.

I think the act boss battles in general need some change. The bosses have a giant wall of hp that almost always requires multiple town trips for flask refills when soloing with a non glass cannon, non overleveled / overgeared character. Its almost like they were designed with portal cheese in mind. Theyre also way too easy in groups due to the obvious issue of the bosses not being able to effectively target more than one player at a time (oversouls earthquake aside).

Part of that is due to party mechanics; specifically, only the player with killing blow gets flask charges. It evens out overall but at any given time its pretty easy to miss 2-3 packs worth of killing blows and end up empty, which happened to me multiple times during the race as well.

Is there a reason flask charge refills arent split like xp?

Had fun ... 1st serious attempt at a HC race.

No parties on the board when I arrived in town, so started a public one.

Went Duelist planning on using Dual Strike, but found a very nice Rare mace just after entering Terraces & decided to use it with a normal attack instead (dps was over double my dual striking swords at the time). Hindsight ... should've kept going with my dual swords & upgraded to sabres as I went.

Party eventually filled up 1/2 way to Mud Flats & we worked well.

Lost someone on the ledge & almost died a few times rushing Rocky.

Prison went well, but got held up for ages at Brutus waiting on party members to catch up, after they ported to town.

Prisoners Gate was our downfall ... we lost 4 players to the big fire dog ... name slips my mind at the moment, but I survived to kill it.

Up until then, I'd had no problems with desync ... but upon entering the Graveyard, I started to get it.

Eventually died when I rubberbanded back into the middle of a mob.

Tis life, but I had alot of fun.

Died lvl 12 ... 72nd minute ... 59th.
In our quest to conquer the world ... allies are just future enemies that don't realise it yet MAWHAHA !!!

Shows you how often when we've duo'd its been with Blood Magic on one or both of us that I didnt notice before.

Surprising it isn't just X kills in Y area grants Z charges. Even if its 50%, randomly not getting the KB on the entire Magic pack would still give you half all flasks.

I guess its sort of a non issue since it really only seems to be an issue sub 20-25, but if 3h races are the norm for weekly events might warrant a look?

was in your party, so lazy of me to not put on a ruby ring against burning menace. was good fun though, although the brutus fight is trivialised in large parties, solo its one big gamble if you hit him at level 9, as a party it is a cakewalk.
