Guild Feedback (From the leader of a large guild)

Actually really our guild is just 'share stuff you don't want and chat' which could be done without a guild if the framework allowed it

I think that should be the focus of the next chat update. A way to chat with different groups or subdivisions of the friendslist would be very welcome.

True, the reason for mine was to allow those who want to be super competitive (which lets face it, a guild like ours would hinder) and show off their guild as the super success guild to do so, but still be able to chat in our guild.
I think we have some great people, and that it wouldn't be a hinderance.

In all honesty, your entire argument is pretty silly. It's like saying Notre Dame can't have a good football team because you actually have to be somewhat intelligent to get into the school in the first place. There's not a damn thing actually stopping competitive people from being sociable, nor sociable people from being competitive.

I haven't read most of the replies in this thread, but +1 to guild chat being hard to read. I just have a small guild with me and my friends so that we can communicate outside of whispers and parties, but half of my messages go unnoticed because the grey text blends into white items being spammed on trade chat.

Thanks for asking for my input.

My guild, the guild for losers who aren't good enough for real guilds, just hit 126 members.

Let's see.

First: GREY. NO. NONONONO. There are so many colours unused, and you pick grey?

Second: stash tabs that only members but not officers can see is a very weird concept. My officers were complaining they couldn't see the stash, when I was like, it's done!...I didn't think that enabling for 'members' wouldn't enable for officers. Surely enabling for 'members' should include 'officers'.

Third: we NEED A WAY TO HIDE THE GUILD CHAT. At this rate, people are going to just quit the guild for some peace and quiet and then ask to be reinvited later. Desperately need some sort of button as Global and Trade chat have.

Fourth: I'd like a UI way to disable global and trade chat regardless of what buttons and keys are pressed. I keep accidentally joining them...because...

Fifth: the ampersand is a bad choice. Why not exclamation mark? It feels awkward to do the shift-7 thing. It really does.

Sixth: I already emailed Sam about this, but we could do with a simple join/leave notification that can be toggled on and off. This goes for all chats.

Seventh: about the stash tabs. I've had to go into several leagues and duplicate over 20 of them. It didn't kill me but it was a hassle. I still don't get why premium stash tab configurations aren't simply the same on all leagues. Surely 'red gems' on Standard will be just as useful as 'Red gems' on Domination or Nemesis.

I've been meaning to give this feedback, either here or directly to GGG. It's nothing they can't work on over time, but I hope they understand now:

The time for putting so-called 'quality of life' features and improvements on the back-burner has passed.

Agreed with all of this and to add :

- There should be a log ( who joined, left or stashed/took which item )

- When you put an item in the guild stash, it doesnt work the way your normal stash would. When you place an item over another you wont get the ability to move it. This means you have to reorganize the stash by withdrawing the items one by time and putting them back in. That can be quite time consuming.

- Identification tag that would clearly show the player's corresponding league type. This is important when multiple people ask for waypoints, rushes or items - It can get quite confusing.

- Allow the use of key bind to quickly withdraw or deposit an item just like normal stash would.

- Also ... Alliances ?
Agree with much of this. For me, the most urgent changes...

1. Please, please reintroduce the default alphabetical sort we have as in the Friends tab. Sort Officers and Members separately but be alphabetical within those?
We've not put every member in yet but it's already a pain checking to see if someone is already in.

2. Add by account name? It's the account that's in the guild, not the character.

3. Shrink or hide the Leave button on our own name. This isn't a casual party, we don't need this ever-present. It's under the Option menu in any case, that should suffice.

4. Another "Yes please" to showing the league someone is currently in just as the Friends tab does. Especially for those of us hoping to use the Guild list so we can clear down Friends rather than bumping against 100.

5. Nice to have
- join date per member
- last login date per member
- stash tabs that replicate names across leagues, or even better the option to copy the names from another league. Actually this would be great on our own accounts, I presently have 45 named from 50... it would be a nice feature at the start of a league!

I'd like to just chime in with an overall 'yes' to the items already mentioned. We only have to deal with 50 or so members, but as a few have already stated, we've got them across 4 different leagues. Being able to identify which league a guild member is in is pretty important.

Guild stash logs would be really nice. I'm not expecting someone to clean out our stash, but it sure would be nice to know who did it if it ever happened.

And yeah, the guild member list in the social panel is pretty gnarly. That can be completely cleaned up to make it not only easier to read, but more informative as well.

We'd also like the ability to grant Admin-level permissions to our Officer group. As it is, a lot of the work can only be accomplished by a single person. Granting Officers the ability to purchase stash tabs or character slots would certainly help.

Thanks GGG.

We've also discovered that Guild Stash tabs don't save their location after being rearranged.

I'm going to bump this, and add:

GGG, my guild is hemorrhaging members and even a few officers because they can't hide the guild chat. Ever. We're a chat-based guild, yes, but sometimes a little peace and quiet is nice. Sometimes it keeps us sane.

Please...Please...Please do something about this.

Custom chat groups (or channels), for a subsection of friends or peers would be really great. Guilds are good but their design (max of 1) is not social in nature, it's competitive.

The !@#$^&* chat system may need to go.

I really don't understand why member slots have to be so expensive. A big guild with more members = people who can socialize more (in my guild that is the case for sure) and there by have a potential to love the game more and support it.

Let us have more members than 200 in the guild and lower the price for extra member slot - 100 is crazy expensive.
