Guild Feedback (From the leader of a large guild)

Hello GGG, I just thought I'd drop you a feedback thread to let you know how your guild system was doing from the user end. I'm running the SomethingAwful guild, which today has passed 70 members, and which I expect will grow larger still through the weekend at the least.

The systems you do have in place have worked well. There's no bugs, and things work as expected. However, there's a lot of usability features to be desired.

1) Stash Tabs - by default, are hidden to only the guild leader. This means that I have to jump around every league, renaming, coloring, etc, every single tab. Being able to save tab presets, or at the very least having them be visible/usable by anyone to start would be nice. Also, it would be great to be able to set filters on what can or can't be added to a given stash, such as level ranges, or even size of items. As an aside to this, the guild leader also can't really sort the tabs: they seem to pop back to the order in which they were purchased.

2) Guild Member Info - is severely lacking. We can't see what league people are in (which can be seen on the friends tab). We can't see how long a member has been inactive, which is a problem when we're dealing with fairly limited spaces, and a large cost to add. There's no sort of filter function to see people sorted by level, act, difficulty, or league. As a leader, it is a pain in the ass to find someone I need to promote.

3) Permissions settings - are currently limited. There are officers, members, and the leader. Why can't I have senior officers that can Invite, Kick, and Mute members in the guild chat, and others who can only invite? This is a smaller gripe, but bears mentioning if I'm mentioning the rest.

4) Guild Chat - is hard to read. I guess this is a general issue but I wish we could put it in its own tab, and chance the color from grey.

Besides these things, the system has been working great! I'd love to see more fun guild-based things, but it seems that they're already on the way through the pvp and achievement system.

I hope some of these things can be addressed, so it becomes easier to play your hecka fuck game without as much tedious guild management. Thanks!

agreed with everything this hecka fuck guy said.

Ya I hate the chat color too.

For twitch it made sense because you'd want to be able to selectively ignore messages if you had a large twitch following. For a small guild though that I'm in, we're basically using it as if we are in a party at all times so I'd like to see what they were saying easily.

Also need a way to tell what league a guildmate is in by icon please, in chat and in the guild list (like with the friends list).

It's also not possible to ctrl click items in and out of the guild stash, is this intended?

Another thing that is a bit annoying is having a gigantic "Kick" button on everyone's name. Hide that under a dropdown menu or something.

I still don't get why premium stash tab configurations aren't simply the same on all leagues. Surely 'red gems' on Standard will be just as useful as 'Red gems' on Domination or Nemesis.
My 'legacy items' tab in standard would be useless in domination. :-P

I do agree with everything else you've said though, and I acknowledge that setting up the guild tabs is a pain in the ass. I can see this becoming a more serious issue if a medium length league starts while the guild leader is inactive. No one will be able to use the guild storage in a one week race unless the leader is available. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to come up with an elegant solution.

Fifth: the ampersand is a bad choice. Why not exclamation mark? It feels awkward to do the shift-7 thing. It really does.

'!' is reserved for D2 style over the head emote.

Otherwise I advocate everything mentioned here.

'~' should work, right? Or is that difficult to reach with some keyboards?

It seems like a pretty simple solution to me. All guild stash tabs should default to full access to everyone in the guild. That way in a race or when a new 4 month league starts at least the tabs are useable even if no one has named them yet.

Something like that can work, but in that case they'll need to be sure to add a way for everyone in the guild to see the permission settings of the tab. Otherwise there might be some situations where an officer assumes that only other officers have access (because that's the case in all other leagues) and they end up getting their items taken by a lower ranked member.
