This is the first char for most of us on the new leagues :)
Templar side has more Life / Aura stuff, a bit.
Shadow side has EB - and yes, that needs gear, but nothing crazy.

Which is better? No clear answer, but I gotta say that Arctic Armor is addictive :D

Hi, im playing a Char with your build. Im lvl 65 atm and farming docks till 70.

I am wearing Cloak of Defiance and i am running Clarity, Grace and Hatred.

I am just wondering, what would be the best if you want to go a bit more offensive with this build.
I feel i am extremly tanky even with my low budget gear but i am not even at 3000 DPS. I am sure i would do more dps with a better weapon, but i am broke atm.

I will go to Inner Force once i get an Alphas Howl and can run 4-5 Auras, but now i just want more DPS.

I could easy put some points into more Cast Speed but i dont really feel that i will get much for the points. Or i could try to get more Projectile Damage from Path of the Hunter or Fury Bolt. I just dont know what is the best way to get more DPS with this build.

Cast Speed is where the damage is at. The 12% damage nodes are nice, but the 8% aren't really worth it.
Also, as a caster, most of your damage is in the wand/shield, Magnate Belt, and SPELL LEVEL.

As for the build, you have 2 unneeded 10 STR at the start area, so take the Life 6% / Mana 8% Nodes :)

Or, you can do crits, but that only pays off with focus.

I'll really want to defer to you when talking about MoM with that chest, as I have only tried it as a 4L, long ago.

I already had to refund it. Couldnt do anything on the map because my character wouldnt attack half the time. It was as I had 2x or 3x slower casting speed.

I think I'll go for Sovereignty now. That will boost my damage, leave me with more mana and increased clarity's mp regen. Then I'll probably try MoM once more to see if it would work then. If not, then I'll just try to go for 4 aura's and add HP.

It could be just that my 190mana and 193/s mana regen wasnt enough (considering EK takes up 156/s and then there's AA also).

I think the problem is the pool more than the regen. Regen helps, but you still need a decent pool to regen into :D

I've been noticing that the amount of damage I take increases by a large amount when I run out of mana, but it could either be the cause, or it could be the effect... Still, I feel that with good Life Regen as well as Mana Regen, this helps out-regen the damage unless it's HEAVILY spiky (doesn't happen to me even from Kole). I really need better gear (like a pair of ES Gloves with +% ES, Life, Triple Res, Rarity).

Still not sure about this build....Guildmates are telling me EK is shit and almost every Ranger Build has higher dps and survivability. Nemesis ofc.
So what makes EK so special? Ist it really compititve against LA or PhysRanger`?

Try it and decide for yourself :)

Melee / Ranged might be able to get more damage (with EPIC gear), but EK is by far the highest direct-damage spell. Is it competitive? Yes. Is it stronger? No way to compare. It works well, it tanks perfectly well.

If you want more damage, go for Crit Based EK builds, possibly on ES, but not a must. Crit builds will always do more damage, and any kind of caster has a far easier time stacking MF. On standard I was using and I had far more DPS, but that's a VERY different approach to this - it works better for DPS, but forget about tanking or surviving Reflect if you crit (which was 50% :D).

I fell in love with EK the first time I tried it. I didn't want to make another Scion though, so I'm trying this with a Witch instead. Still using your guide as reference though. ;)

Witch should work, you'll be a lot alike. Harder to get to Templar, but not too bad, and doesn't matter until VERY high level.
