Microtransactions getting in the way for Hardcore

"
for some hardcore league players having theyr char on default is worse than death.

True, they get stones thrown at them at lioneye's watch by lvl 1 witches.
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
Oh, I didn't know there was the possibility to bring a dead Hardcore character back to the Hardcore ladder via microtransactions. That makes "hardcore" as a whole look even worse in my book! Seriously... disappointed is an understatement. This is pay to win, in this case a 2nd life, and makes the whole point of Hardcore a moot point.

Please look at Diablo 2 hardcore feature, and don't undermine how hardcore works for that game.

There ins't.

GooberM: "How does that not warrant a good ol' stabby-stabby?"
If there IS a way to bring the dead back to life in hardcore; then I agree it's pay to win. Buy a second life; that's not the point of hardcore. I don't play hardcore in PoE as of right now; but I lived in hardcore for years on Diablo 2. Softcore just didn't have the appeal to me in that game at all. Many of my friends play softcore in PoE so I keep my characters there. I'm much less of a gamer than I was back in the Diablo 2 days; so I consider myself more casual.

Either way, any methods of bringing characters back to life are a shame to the game when it comes to hardcore. This whole "it goes to default" is just something to whine about in my opinion. You lose your gear, your character, and your spot on the ladder to the next guy if that's your thing. But one good thing is you can go back and look at your tree; see where there were mistakes and know how to better build your next character. Cross league trading is always a pain in the butt to pull off because there's a ton of trust that has to be placed into account. This does occur however, and it even happened in Diablo 2! "Selling my softcore stuffs for your hardcore stuffs! Gogo!!!". It wasn't as common, since your character was straight up gone and nothing came back from it. We still had our stashes then, we only called them mules and they were a different character and usually on a different account anyways.

Either way, there's no point in a "bring back the dead" anything. Hardcore should be just that, you die and your trip is over. No more hardcore league for that character.

So... let me get this straight..

Micro transactions are ruining hardcore because hardcore characters go to default on death?

Spoiler
There is no way to revive a dead character. Welcome to the PoE forums, how would you like your troll today?
The Russell Wilson Era
This thread should be moved to the bullshit section.
I paid 142$ to ressurect my char when it died in hc but now he is starting to smell and the skin is darker than usual. I think he is beginning to rot. Can a dev fix this issue plz?
I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league. Now my post has been removed, chained and exiled by mods who Ban. Ban is my brother; i do not fear it. I see it in the eyes of men and beasts that i troll. It will take me to play the actual game when i am ready and i am not ready.
so, you can resurrect a dead Hardcore character into Standard League - which I somewhat agree isn't very "hardcore", unless of course you delete it manually.
possibly after doing what I do, and giving away his inventory to random people.

but... how do Micro-transactions fit in here?

where's the "confused" Cheetah-emoticon when I need it?

You die in Hardcore, you are no longer in Hardcore. If you want to keep playing in Hardcore, you will need to make a new character.
Why is it so difficult to accept this? The dead character will be totally disconnected from your Hardcore stash, and it will reside in a league you don't want to play on.
If you want to continue play on Hardcore, isn't the dead character basically... dead for you?

I was disappointed to find that I could resurrect a dead character. I was hoping Hardcore would be like in Diablo 2 - dead character is dead, can't play again, lose all gear.

Microtransactions are ruining the way games are being made, it's sad. This was my first let down with Path of Exile. I was looking for a real successor to my Diablo 2 habits.

No HC player continues playing his character on standard when they die. They trade away or put the items in their stash and let the character rot or simply delete him.

Perhaps you aren't a HC player?
