(Dominus, kaom, hyrri, shavronne and brutus, malachai, etc etc) ... but if you take a look at the wiki article you see how rich the world is and how much room for expansion there is, how many human factions there are etc, and it doesnt even do all this by involving demons and angels and butterfly magics. And playing tag with demon souls lololololol If you were a real diablo fan like I was, you would know what they did in diablo 3, and more importantly, what they could have done following d2 lod's ending. You cant understand how painful it is to have them take a massive smelly shit on one of your most favorite stories ever after a 12 year wait. Because you are neither a real diablo nor poe fan, just a newgen gamer, casual of both who wants to whine about the latest game that doesnt cater to his laziness. Bet you did the same on d3's forums when POE hit open beta. |

Thanks you for pointing out who I am although I was a hardcore D2 player and have been playing PoE ever since CB apparently I am not a fan of neither of them just because you say so. Thanks Adolf!
Your answer is a very weak one: Even if the "dots" would be connected, still the story in Diablo 3 is much better then in PoE in my opinion. And you say that there is room for more story in PoE which is also applicable to Diablo3? They are going to release a new act and a new character so that story expanding too. You are trying so hard but fail to see that the voice acting, the story and the lore in D3 just outlevels those in PoE. And that's ok since Blizzard is a very big organization, just don't pretend that it is better is PoE because I am sure that anybody who plays both games objectively will agree with that. Diablo 3 story didn't suck you are just repeating some crap that's told about this game. It was not good, not epic, but it did not suck. You all categorize everything to either "worst game evah" or "best game evah". PoE storytelling is on the same level, if not even lower. It has giant holes in it. General idea of what piety is doing does not make much sense. It all semi holds up to maveril - but the characters seem super shalow, like the pirate. Second act comes with trouble. How did piety cross the barier sealed with vaal? What's up with fidelitas seriously? Why does the weaver hold a poisonous rapier that with a gem can kill a tree root? How can oak have any impact on anything in the realm? If there is another way to move around the island, why no one knows it/does not tell us and rather send us to the ruins with evil that will be a source of their doom if we don't kill it? Why is piety nurturing Tolman and gives a shit about him to be there during the torture? How did they transport all those body carts to lunaris on such short notice and when, since they are so fresh?
The thing that PoE did better than D3 is that you could skip the story. You can pay no attention to it, just kill stuff. D3 makes you relive it's mediocre story over and over again till the point you want to puke. In PoE, after you unlock all the zones, you don't care about the story at all, just reset the zones. This is a perfect solution, and D3 biggest flaw as a arpg grindfest. |
