so basically you would like to be able to hit level 100 in crappy gear, most likely by just farming an easy area?

I have no problem doing higher level areas.. with the current state of maps tho I do not have consistent access to them as do many other solo players. Chris and team have said many times that maps are not supposed to be the only way to level..

-XP in maps (No Chris, doing 70 maps as lvl 80+ is really no fun, really!)

I completely agree. Maps should be about items rather than mandatory for experience. There are many changes being discussed.

I am very happy with the Map system (especially the difficulty to get and stay at high Maps), but I certainly feel that we need to find a solution for high-level experience gain. Maps are intended to be about high-level item acquisition instead. This is something we're working on, but changes to it may not be done in time for the first 0.11.0 release.

Only problem with this... these were posted way back in May and here it is 4 months later and nothing else has even been teased other than... we are not happy with current end game leveling.

I understand, but point was it was supposed to be hard to reach 100...with no xp penalty its REALLY easy to hit 90 and many people will hit 100
Maps are a filler. They aren't the fi nal product. But rather than release something terrible and un finished, they want to make sure it is working as intended, will improve gameplay, and not break things.

Is it really a good idea to complain about not releasing unfinished products? Anyone reminded of those games 3-4 years ago that were super buggy out of the box because the dev teams had to work towards the 'game must be finished by this date' producers forced a terrible game out?

Yes, maps are a gateway. Yes, maps are doing some things very well and some things badly. But the XP is meant to be difficult to obtain. Sure, it may be better in future for levelling areas, but as it is now, this is what we have, and the dev's won't be making significant changes to maps for XP benefits because of this
The amount of XP is how you control that... not with XP penalty to level. I dont mind farming for hours on end. I have over 11 days on one of my 80s. Thats pretty piss poor compared to some people but it shows that I still dont mind doing that.

Edit -- @ RealWolf.. I didnt ask them to change maps. I completely agree and stand behind them being hard to obtain for item purposes. Please re-read my posts and the subject line to see what I am giving my feedback on.

very well said

maps are still much better than hat we have in d3 (and imo, d2)

I personally enjoy grinding maps far more than doing lunaris runs (and I think I got legit sick of docks when I used to grind with my GS mara forever). they have more interesting layouts, some mod combos you might have never experienced , and so on.

I think GGG did a good job at it. now if they said 100 was a level obtainable for many players and there were more content after, then it'd be a problem. but they repeatedly have stated that 100 should be reached by like very few, after a long, loooong time. its clearly something casual and even half-casual players shouldnt be able to reach

yep. Theres absolutely no light at the end of the tunnel, 100s of hours of QQ on these forums, anyone who brings up the problem being dragged into a debate about if the problem even exists or not, despite GGG acknowledging the problem and agreeing with what people are saying about the situation being far from ok an age ago.

just tell us what the deal is with levelling/maps/alternatives already, how many posts has this forum had to endure since I last asked you guys for that GGG? If you just tell people the truth then whatever it is they can handle it, all this tail chasing and arguing on the forums is retarded, we just want to know whats up, we dont want to argue this same stupid point with people in endless threads.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
death penalty should be raised to 18-20% on all levels and desync/reflect/burst damage need to be reworked.

reward players who can play well against the game's challenges instead of cushioning the ones who dont.

but wouldnt that require a whole re-work of the xp table per level ? xp penalty in lower levels should obviously stay the same (I think youll agree) so what exactly do you propose ? lower actual XP at higher levels ?
