Official Blender Post! Lets theory craft for 1.2! 123k Cleave DPS!

I am looking to get back to PoA.. I had a blender using Dual Strike instead of Cyclone because I don't have soultaker. I was doing about 25-30k dps I believe.. I could run level 70+ maps.
Is that build still one of the best or are there better ones around now? Or what?

That build is still completely relevant. Considering you don't have a Soul Taker, you can use Blood Magic with Cyclone and Life Gain on Hit. I did this until I got a Soul Taker, and I was able to run 70+ maps with ease.

I like it better than taking the Scion wheel of life...
you get more life, ele damage and the radius effect/amp damage...

Thinking this may be the path I'll try to fill..

So are we meant to spec into Blood Drinker or not, if we don't have LL on items?

I think it's personal preference but I don't.

LGoH is sufficient for my needs

The new gem Vaal Grace is a nice addition for this build. On top of 50+% block and blind we get a 40% dodge chance (probably goes up to 50% or so) for both normal attacks and spell damage. This makes the character almost invincible for a short time. I mean you have to be insanely unlucky for a normal attack to go through all that. The duration is 4 seconds at level 1, no idea if it will increase as it levels up. A nice little aura for when you're in a very tough spot or have to tank through huge damage.


Not to mention the new damage increase for dual wield! I got 3k extra DPS on my dual strike after this patch. Awesomeness.

This is personal preference, I spec into Blood Drinker just to hit 20% life leech with my alternate gear, this opens a socket for more damage or whatever... now that being said, IMO, a 20/20 LGoH with Cyclone is still better..

20% life leech seems like crazy overkill. Why would you need that much leech? I thought my 7% was a lot.

went for the leech gear and passive to get to 20% anticipating taking Vaal Pact... that would leave me with 8% instant leech if I'm not mistaken.. that was the plan.. ultimately just to free up the LGoH socket for more damage, speed or MF.. now I got my damage boost for free :D with the last patch.. we'll see, I'm still toying with the build.
