Melee physical crit and reflect mobs
Sorry in advance if this has been asked before, I tried to search for existing topics but the search function sucks.
I am building a crit melee Duelist with life and armor (converted evasion), see here: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/458894/page/8 Now how can I deal with those reflect mobs? Do you think I can survive depending just on my life and armor maybe using a granite as well? Does Enfeeble even help agains reflect? What is a good way to deal with those mobs? |

Avoid them!

" Lol that was what I was thinking too. Kind of dangerous though, gotta check that aura so I can recognize them! |

On my ranger it's usually too late as I hurt them off screen then wham... dead. :) but that bright yellow spike aura is reflect. Not to be confused with increased attack speed. :/

Until you are weak reflect is not really a problem. But if your build is capable of really high phys damage output reflect will constantly kill you and your armor won't help much. There are 3 ways to deal with reflect.
First Way - you need Vaal Pact and around 15% leech. In this scenarion only way you can kill yourself is by doing so much damage that you oneshot yourself and can't leech back. Multistrike greatly helps against oneshots as it makes your attacks less damaging but faster. Second Way - If you run around 10 charges and your crit chance is high enough you can have 2 daggers on swap with crit for spells and spell power mods and use them with Diamond Flask to unleash Discharge+Concentrated Efect+Critical Damage located in one of these daggers (preferbly in the on with +2 to gem level mod). This will oneshot phys reflect mob with pure elemental damage. This is also the only way to deal with double phys reflect (reflect aura on a reflect map) Third Way - Reflect can be evaded so you can use enfeeble+blind on a mob to greatly raise your chance to avoit it's attacks, and hope that you will evade the reflect. But if you won't it will probably kill you. |

Oke,
-Vaal pact might be an option -That weapon swap solution is way too much effort if you ask me -I do not use evasion but armor. So basically armor bases melee has to either pick Vaal packs to avoid those mobs. @GGG: Melee needs something to deal with reflect! Last edited by Startkabels#3733 on Jul 24, 2013, 6:08:25 AM

Have a lot of DPS (depending what is a lot for you since I got about 25k dps) with a good percentage of life leech, and your better of capping it at 20% to get a lot of life back. You also want to have plenty of life regen, at least 200/s.
Since you are having melee char be a crit build, you will sometime spike up, so occasionally you will lose a lot of HP to reflect. Have plenty of armor as possible 10k at the absolute minimum, carry with you Enduring Cry to increase your estimated physical damage reduction to a certain amount. I recommend five endurance charges at the minimum to get 20% at the spot. That should cushion a good amount of the reflect back at you. Another important that can make a difference with physical reflect is to have some elemental damage in your attack. As along you are doing pure physical damage, you will take all of the reflect. You want to try to balance out physical damage with a certain amount of elemental damage, be it cold, fire, light, or all of them (using auras like hatred, anger for example, and even added fire dmg gem). Just make sure some of the elemental damages are in the hundreds range when you see your skills from the skill bar. Of course, your physical damage will still rule out possibly being in the thousands, if you happen to reach really high in DPS. This will also again soften the physical damage reflected back at you. If you combine all that I have said, you should be able to survive from all the reflects hurled toward you back. Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game. - raics, 06.08.2016 Last edited by JohnNamikaze#6516 on Jul 24, 2013, 6:24:05 AM
