Ways to Remove High-end Items from the Game (To Curb Item Inflation)
|
I think a combination of Crafting (breaking down many items to gain 1 item back) BoE (Not BoP) and Trading items / Gems to NPC's for currency-items would be the best solution.
But,if crafting and trading are worked on hard enough, BoE may not be necessary Happy Days Abound.

I don't mind BOE... there should also be 2 sub-options.
BtAoE vs. BtCoE. In the first case it binds to the whole account and can be transfered using an account stash. In the other case only the equipping character can use it. I don't think most items should bind though. Only items that have an RP value of binding should actually bind. Just read a post by Bash on the D3 forums saying that the intention of ladder wipes in D2 was to balance the economy. Apparently I was completely wrong in my previous posts on this thread, sorry.

" +rep in my book for finding evidence and admitting it. It's like I said, economics even in games where you'd think it's not a problem, still is a huge problem. The economy has been a problem in *every* game I've ever played, for the reasons I stated in this thread... and I'm sure POE will suffer if they don't think about this topic like they thought about the gold economy or other tweaks they found that failed in previous games. Top-gear problem maybe solved by looking at player number and making a "max of the item in game" like in diablo2 there is enigma ,so lets say they have 20k players ,so lets say they make 1k enigmas in the whole game. New ones will drop when player amount will change - ( it does pretty often ) .
Repent! That's what i'm talking about!

Sounds good to me i think since most people here will be playing early enough to get the items if they cap them like this.
Yes good sir, I enjoy slaying mythical creatures.

But the more people playing, the more people selling these items and also the more people buying them too. Economies typically even themselves out unless it's not structured well.

Ya that is the main concern not everyone is convinced this model of the economy will balance out. Though i will say in the American economy our doesn't balance the government was forced to bail out private institutions. So while i disagree with some of there suggestions i do support what they are trying to do.

First, be smart from the very beginning. Pulverize all teeth, burn off fingerprints, and disfigure the face. Forcing a DNA test to establish identity (if it ever comes to that) might introduce the legal/forensic hurdle that saves your ass down the line. An unidentifiable body can, in a pinch, be dressed in thrift store clothes and dropped in a bad part of town where the police are less likely to question it. I don't reommend that disposal method, I'm just saying an easily identifiable body is an even bigger threat than the opposite.
