Just play with a 4L for a while until you can try again. Like Feyith said - map with us. She carries us anyway - kills stuff so fast it really doesn't matter what kind of damage we're doing :)

This was the last post on a page, which is always no good. Quoting for greater visibility.

The OP was written last June, and it has been indeed quite a while. I should hope I've done a reasonably good job of keeping it up-to-date, but it's always possible something slipped by. Goodness knows, by the time I gave up playing my ranger to hop into Nemesis, her setup barely looked like anything in the OP anyway.

If anyone wants to chime in with their current build and gear, I will edit it to the second post. If anyone wants to help clean up the OP to be perfectly up-to-date, even better.

I did both-- Finesse up to Ballistic Mastery (via Heart of Oak) and from Finesse also up to Primal Spirit.

That said, I did it for the STR and INT not so much for the mana regen/recovery. I'm using Decoy Totem and Raise Zombie, so both my STR and INT need to be high. But the 8% increased mana on the way doesn't hurt. I was having mana problems until I finally 5L'ed my Ice Shot and switched to Blood Magic / Life Gain on Hit. No more mana problems. :)

I also do a Ice shot build on the two week race, but mine is a little different. My target is to go for Eldritch Battery/Iron Reflexes/Mind over matter and run Arctic Armour. I have no intention running hatred.

I only will use Grace and a high level clarity. I won`t be needing Blood magic or Mana leech that way. That gives me one more socket to counter the dps loss from not running Hatred. Because of IR and Artic Armour, I won`t be having any Physical reflect issues as well.

Found this late, else I would've used it for the current 1M SC league. I like this type of play style a lot; my first serious character was a cold snap discharge witch. Going to try this out in Standard once the respec comes in August. At least I assume there is from what I've been hearing.

Kirielis' build is pretty close to 10% freeze chance with a few more points as well.

Been thinking of trying an Ice Shot build in the new leagues. Was also considering taking Eldritch Battery and Mind over Matter. The Reverly cluster with mana on hit and kill is along the way to MoM.

thinking of using this once 1.2 comes out.

With the skill tree change does it make the build better or worse?

any videos of this in action?
