Plans to fix Desync issues in Melee?
it's completely trivial to fix but they refuse to do it because they're incompetent and can't deal with a tiny amount of cheating. quit to save yourself the disappointment

I will not comment on how competent or incompetent are they, but it's not fixed yet, didn't you notice? Their attempts made it go from bad to worse as we all can see, btw.

" There's no need to comment on their "competence"... The 3+ years of desync, says it all... I mean only a delusional moron would deny it. Since the moment this game went into Alpha it desync'd... Incompetence, ignorance or straight up "who gives a shit... Actually probably a combination of all 3... 1. They have piss poor coders, too cheap to hire competent coders. 2. They are too arrogant to realize their design choice was trash. 3. They heard everyone starting in Alpha tell them there was GIANT problem but they were focused on their self imposed deadline for OB and enamoured by the money they could smell from their MicroT shop. Doesn't matter anymore... Game's on life support from w/e they can milk from these dumbasses who want the pretty supporter titles on their forum account. The ones who have been saying for 3 years "GGG is aware of it and will fix it soon". These idiots spent ridiculous amounts of money on a "broken" game just so they can have a pretty colored forum title and have no shame by continually denying they have been wrong for 3+ years. So they will spout the token "GGG is aware of it and will fix it soon" until the last dying moment before the servers give a farewell desync and then shutdown for good. " this guy gets horny on every desync thread, did you lose a friend or family member to desync? and i wonder why you still havent been banned, jeez |

Whoa, hold the phone here. Desync could be caused by your own computer being too slow or overloaded or maybe from your Internet link to the PoE servers.
I posted my own Internet trace here: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/432847/page/1#p3817468 As you can see from my own link to Dallas, TX the number of companies involved in the transport of data from point A to point B and back are many and any single company can have a faulty piece of hardware that slows or stops the PoE game data packets from getting through. Try your own traceroute and post the results. Let's see if you just have a poor Internet connection or if you can really blame GGG for your desync problems. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

" If this were the case, why is it no other games have such serious issues with this? D3? Torchlight2? GW2? Firefall? I've never encountered a desync problem as bad as this in any other game. Ever. My comp is more than fine. And my connection runs all other mmos great. PoE is the only game where this crops up. Moreover the sheer number of people experiencing the desync problem is so widespread, GGG has to be the ones to fix the issue. It's clearly something to do with how the game itself preforms, not every individual who plays the game. |

" Of course you have to ignore people like me, You're a passionate PoE fan and don't like people criticizing its shortcomings. You're just like those poeple that spent 200+ dollars on Marvel Heroes (poor souls) only to realize weeks after release that that was probably the worst 200+ they ever spent. Difference with PoE ? it's an actually good game, but the developers have made bad choices to deal with cheating, and all they've done is spoil the experience of people that don't cheat. Always trust the server ? 'Barter' economy ? RNG crafting ? Punish players like me and many others and people are still maphacking and still using RMT transactions. You don't like the truth ? cool, but for many players, desync is getting worse with every patch, and it's only so many times people will have SC progress reversed, or HC progress halted, before they grow tired and move on to basically anything else that does not use an ' always trust server' system. The retarded thing is that my criticism is of how the game works and has nothing to do with it's content, but you can't even understand something as simple as that. |

" D3 has lag/ desync too |

Desync has nothing to do with your internet connection or your pc. Try learning what it is before you try to discuss/defend it? Makes you look so stupid...
D3 has rubber banding and de-sync? Yeah in very small amounts. I played similar amount of time on both D3 and POE and it's pretty clear that it's only an issue in POE. I think I saw desync/rubber-banding only a handful of times in D3. Anyone who argues this fact is a moron. GGG reason for not fixing de-sync is outlined in the manifesto post, basically they think a few design decisions like having 'chance to hit' in the game and a few other things outweigh the game actually working properly. I think this says it all really. As soon as something else comes a long that will attract these type of players everyone will leave and POE will die a slow death. Quick buy as many green rain of arrows microtransations as you can before you go! |

D3 had an insane amount of rubber banding, at least in the first few months. The first month after release, I ran with with a skill meant to counter rubber banding (and walls to some extent). And that's in a game where nothing is ever supposed to stop you from running away, except rubber banding (no stun, no chill, monsters have very little block zones).
This affected almost exclusively Monks however, as ranged classes were getting one-shot anyway, and Barbs had better tools to deal with large packs, so used a lot less melee kiting. Add stuns and it would have been a nightmare. Also, Desyncs in PoE have a lot to do with your internet connection, or at least its relation to the servers. It varies wildly between regions and connection types. So, basically, sorry, but you know nothing, pengant. |
