They will get stronger as you level the gem and connect support gems to them.
I would say Try to get curses and support gems for your zombies. Spectre won't be good till later on.

As for bandit rewards am going for skill point only because I might switch to CI in the future.

Hey another question, I am approaching lvl 60 and do you know when would be a good time to take MI out to make sure my spectres/zombies don't die as fast?
@matt: Thanks for the answers. They helped me reorganize my skill tree a bit and gain some more defensive stats for myself. Seems my concerns about the loss of the extra minions and extra minion life was unconcerned. Maybe i'll try and test Ancestral Bond when i have the extra currency to buy some regrets. :)

@omega: You can use the Vitality aura. I found that it greatly prolongues the life of all your minions.

i'd suggest the proper time to take it out is when the zombies are no longer dying regularly. i remember hitting a point where i was recasting them fairly regularly to hardly ever seeing them die. at that point you're not using MI for damage and it's just popping your spectres earlier.

No problem.

8 zombies is enough for me. Although my zombies have about 3k less hp without the 40% life i took out. Am thinking of speccing points into the 10% minion life near that spectre node.

I am enjoying that extra armor a lot with IR since I use to have like 800. I remember when I had 4.3k hp and a crit rhoa charge one shotted me, that is when I made it a point to get a lot of armor on my summoner because no matter how much hp you have your effective hp against physical damage is kinda pathetic with little armor.

now that I have 10k+ armor i no longer have to fear physical hits as much. 3.5khp is def enough of a buffer you just need to watch out for high damage fire and chaos hits. Mainly fire and chaos alchemist bombs.

Am going to try and get more +mana regen and start to use artic armor which would help even more.

1- i am wondering tho , hows this build in group play ( endgame maps for example )

2- Wouldnt it be good to use elemental damage aura ( fire or cold etc etc )

3- and how you trigger to get -fire ?? with arc ?

4- Does any of your stats affect the summons ?? ( ES, life , life regen , armor , or w/e else )

1- Group play you serve as a agroo holder, aura holder, triple curse, EE, shock spreader. You make everyone else's job the builds with more dps easier. To sum it up tank/support. I recommend taking spectre that won't drop your party member's dps. So avoid sentinels, void bearers mostly.

2- I have the mana for wrath as my 6th aura. am trying to add anger next but i need more mana. Am liking Mstrike, melee physical, remote mine, zombie + vulnerability aura.I noticed that the aura carries another "more multiplier" for physical damage. Mstrike for faster attack speed. Once you stack those multipliers even the first hit of three can kill a white. The next attacks are automatically transferred to any nearby mobs. Anger and Wrath serve to increase the effectiveness of Mstrike

3- with arc or if your tanky enough and brave enough to go into the fray. Quality shock nova

4- only minion damage and minion life affects minions. Other than that MI,EE,shocks indirectly

Hey I'm currently lvl 70 summoner with some input/concerns.

I first tried going basically a dual-totem spark/minion hybrid, but proved to be too squishy and required too many points to make spark even somewhat viable.

Now, since following this thread, I have spec'd into IR/EE with dual shockwave totem with added lightning and hatred. Its a very similar build to what Hercanic was doing earlier (or maybe still?). I exclusively use the Flame Sentinels from Solaris because I value their survivability over anything.

Unfortunately Dual Totem does essentially tie up 5 points, which might be better spent on life nodes...making EB a better/safer option. Without these life nodes, I opted to take Deep Thoughts to gain the benefit of mana regen while keeping the buffer of ES, at the cost of another 4 points tied up.

So essentially, if i spec out of dual totem/EE/Static blows (2 points for SB), I can spec into EB and have an additional 10 points to spend on Minion Damage and Life.


--I guess I have two questions:

1) Does shock stacking from static blows with temp chains even last long enough to be beneficial? -- I personally noticed a difference in kill speed, but do not know if this is due to EE or shock stacking.

2) Do Sentinels have enough killing speed without EE/Shocking to be viable or are Tentacle Miscreations a must? --I believe theres a threshold as a summoner, essentially you must kill things before they kill your minions, to be efficient.

I plan to build my Summoner a little bit different as i want to maximize the number, life and dmg of all minions (I'm very lazy :D). Your new build goes for IR+Grace. I like that idea. Is it always better to go for IR now? In my upcoming build (EB+Dual Curse) should i go for...

I know it does matter what my equip looks like. My witch is just level 40 and has no gear at all, so i'm goin to farm/buy equip for a good build and not to build around gear. Thanks for advice.
