i think you've got it perfect chris, people will complain no matter, this seems more than middle ground and a great idea

Not having been able to try the current system out in action I can't really give an accurate answer to said changes. I can say though that ffa loot is not appealing to me in any way shape or form and is something that can easily kill my interest in a game. Having to rush around to grab every drop sounds more tedious than fun.

Any type of FFA loot makes players concentrate more on text appearing than they do actually playing. This penalizes the players who focus on killing the monsters instead of constantly looking for items that drops. I would suggest individual drops to be honest.

I think it is important to have both types in seperate leagues.
IE Do not force a looting type for all leagues, have specific leagues that cater to different players That way the ones who enjoy the thrill of being first to click an item that drops can enjoy it with other like minded people while those who enjoy getting allocated loot regardless of how slow their reflexes are can do so as well On the topic of the opening post, I like this solution. I am from NZ myself and always hated in Diablo 2 when I lagged too much and never really had a chance against US players. This would even the scales slightly. |

Really, I don't want to read through 68 pages of posts. SO, if anyone that actually knows the answers to these questions would be so kind to respond, I would appreciate it.
1. Is this loot system currently enabled and used in the beta? 2. How viable does the loot allocation work? 3. How does the allocation work specifically? Is it randomly generated to certian players? |

I really don't like the FFA or even the proposed system posted. All of it just discourages playing in a group. The best system I've seen for a game like this is the separate loot drops for each player, like Diablo 3 for example. This makes for a more relaxing and enjoyable style of play where you aren't trying to constantly dick your friends over loot while playing.

"Great idea! Those who don't rise to the challenge are weak, but those who do are foolish.

" This. With the league system in place, there's no reason not to let those who want to be spoon-fed loot have their own league. The only complicated bit about it would be deciding where in the league hierarchy the allocated loot league would be. It would make the game easier, so it couldn't be too high up. Maybe on par or slightly below what the default league would be. |

" I actually like this idea, however, it might be a bit annoying if someone is getting mobbed by a horde of enemies only to have someone stand idly by waiting to scoop up your item while you're distracted. Although, realistically, there isn't really much of a solution to this problem. I would, however, like to have it so that other players in my party would have a slightly lower cooldown on when they can nab the item. That way, even if I'm distracted, someone else in my group might be able to grab it before the idle random. I do somewhat like the idea of "hardcore" players not having that luxury though. |
