I played standard a few days before patch 3.27. Everything was smooth. Now the game is just unplayable. I guess it's something about this patch.

Breach is the crazy one for sure, but i also have small spikes just chilling in Hideout or some random league mechanic.
I'm gonna continue capturing every map now, since it's not stopping.

I’ve got the same problems — it’s really annoying. I’ve reached the endgame and can’t even use the Waystone anymore; nothing loads in Karui Shores. I somehow managed to complete the first map for the quest there, but I died three times doing it with a tanky build.

There were many issues during the storyline as well — lag spikes from 2,000 to 10,000 or even more. It’s not like this happens after a specific amount of time; it’s completely random and lasts for random durations.

I’ve never had problems like this before, and I’ve been playing this game since open beta.

Fix your servers or hardware — whatever it is!

I think it’s caused by all the projectile builds lagging out the servers too much because of the background calculations like damage, etc.

What's funny is that I'm from Germany and I'm having these problems — but a friend of mine, who lives only about 30 kilometers away, can play almost without any issues. But it can't just be me, if so many other people are having the same problem and aren’t even from the EU!?

Possible Causes

Server-Side Load / Instance Overload:

When a specific game server (for example, “Karui Shores” or certain map instances) is overloaded, you get extreme lag spikes even though your ping is generally low.

Other players might end up on different server instances, even if they’re in the same region.

Problems with the Game Engine or Server Logic:

In Path of Exile, for example, there are currently (as of 2025) known issues with projectile calculations, minions, totems, Delirium or Beyond effects, and similar mechanics.

These cause server-side lag — the ping remains stable, but the game freezes or becomes delayed.

Routing to Different Data Centers:

Even if players all select “Frankfurt,” they may still be routed through different paths or server clusters.

These can vary significantly in terms of stability and load.

Same here. Yesterday no problems, today latency between 21 and 13.000 ... unplayable

This kind of Problems occur for me (in EU) at every single Leaguestart on Primetime.
Maybe they dont use servers that automatically adjust bandwith?
Looking back on last League the servers seem to also not have good protection against DDoS-attacks, so they might be the cheapest u can find. Idk...

Launch day for the most part was smooth for me, yesterday and today has been so bad that I almost just want to quit the league because of how far behind I'm falling from everyone else because I am dcing anywhere from 3-6 times a map, constantly losing hives/breaches, losing maps for atlas completion... it's getting ridiculous, and then on top of it you've got the gaslighter kids in chat acting like its a personal problem because they aren't also experiencing it.
