Dragon's Immortal Tank (Updated for 1.2)




this is the new build for me, i think the patch didnt hurt it too much, the extra hp is awesome, and the cast on damage taken is amazing, i have it set so i cast 2 seperate molten shells 1 that does dmg and 1 that casts with a level 1 damage on taken gem so it casts more often, also casting enduring cry which at 7 charges puts me at 80% damage reduction. nothing can really kill me except chaos damage, still trying to raise my chaos res its at -23% =(

it kinda sucks doing no damage without the auras so im starting to take a few damage nodes to make up for it\

and my auras im running now are: discpline, determination, and tempest shield

I tried out Dragons on my ranger seeing as it pretty much goes to the start anyway, although i did find it to have more life and like 1.3k more dps than my build, as he didnt take iron reflexes the armour was far too low for me to sustain the build (around 5k armour). Although mine does have less dps it is currently sitting at around 13k armour, and with the cast on dmg taken gems i always have 5 endurance charges up also, with molten shell up almost constantly, the dmg molten shell does isnt enough for me to bother with it really so ive left my cast on dmg taken gems at level 1, i may also link immortal call to one of these gems and increased duration, as having the endurance charges up all the time combined with this could be very nice, possibly what you could do with dragons build. Have the extra dps, keep endurance charges and immortal call up as much as possible with these gems, although you may want to level the immortal call gem up so it doesnt activate as often as the enduring cry one.

Iron reflexes is obligatory on this build, guys? I'm thinking on making a build similar but my main skill will be molten shell/reave, the main skill will be molten shell, i'm doing this build on the new league, nemesis. This is my skill tree.

At this point i want take some fire damage nodes (Arsonist and immolation) but i will waste so many nodes to get there, what do you guys think? this may work? should i take those fire nodes? I will use determination and tempest shield as auras.
Leaving all my dmg auras away left me with about 5.7k dps for my Double Strike (and thats 5L with Soul Taker!), so I am a bit disappointed regarding the offense.
My defense on the other hand got a bit better: I gained about 1k more life, 6k more armor (now at about 23k) and once I get an Alpha's Howl I will be able to run Discipline (other auras will be Grace and Determination) again which leaves me with about the same amount of ES as before, probably a bit more.

All in all the build for me still rocks!

Also I will probably leave away some life/regen nodes and get more dps.

just solo-d new 74 Map Residence for the first time - whos boss is Dominus.

Would not recommend making the map mods hard, and you will want rainbowstrides for spellblock. And his slam attack really really really hurts.

Edit: My theory did not work. That was a 12 regret mistake :)

I hope GGG responds to the feedback and drop the auras a little. I really think 4 should be plausible with 8 passives spent towards reduction nodes.

i really hope the build can be viable again i really want to build that one :(
My dps dropped from 17k to 12k... I lost 30% in armor, and like 20% in health. This is with PRE-nerfed legacy items...imagine using post-nerfed items...
dunno i will wait and see what dragon gonna say and maybe make a new build :D
