what seems to be the main things people want in the game?

combat and move fluidity, flow.
... nothing

Drop pick up:
for the closed beta community FFA drops were just fine... and many of us prefer it over the current system or over any system at all.
BUT.... we really do have to prepare for open beta trolls and ninja looters... while in a perfect world we could just instantly BAN them... that isn't really going to happen.

really the best option here is just to let people have options... and show the current party drop system in the party screen and maybe let people click a check box to hide the drop system partys they don't want.

EXP: drops - FFA (5 second binding of random items)

This is the one that makes or breaks PoE for my friends and me. As I've said before, the moment GGG decides they will absolutely NOT implement individual (aka instanced loot), they are welcome to delete my account and give my beta key to someone else. FFA loot is why we quit D2, and we will never again play a game that doesn't at least include an instanced loot option.

The above-suggested solution, with an in-game option and party filtering based on its setting, sounds ideal.

the monkey section is the start of act 2, its not act 1. right now you wont see a proper transition between acts because its in beta. CG, story progress, lore, whatever ties the knot from act 1 to act 2 isnt in right now.

it is still normal even tho it is act 2... and a CG scene wont make you any more prepared for the masses of monkeys.

first off let me say that this proves that the loot system is very important and that my idea to give players the ability to pick from a couple loot systems is the best way to go.

but...
if i understand right instance looting is where each player sees his own set of items that no one else sees or can pick up.
i can tell you that i will never use this system in any game i make and i don't think GGG will use this system ether.... it is too hard on the server.

for example... each yellow/boss mob drops about 15 items.... in a party that would make it drop 95 items... that alone is enough to cause a major lag spike to any one in that instance... then add in that there is a quantity buff adding even more items and then add that there are 500ish people online in CB and in OB there will probably be thousands of players online.

also not every one in the party is going to be looking for the same stuff... in this game just because it is yellow doesn't make it best... most the stuff i have found to be my beast gear is white items i upgraded/crafted to +20% quality yellows.
this forces ether a ton of good items to be left there taking up server memory or the party stopping to pick and trade loot every time they kill some thing.

i would recommend at least settling for the NEED/GREED/PASS system....
We can't solve problems we can't talk about...
Damage Numbers
Just seeing them gives a better sense of progression in the game. You start off doing 10's of damage, and you really feel better about your character later when you hit the high hundreds or even thousands. It gives the player a feeling of power.

Party Nametags
To help differentiate players from enemies, and just because it's nice to know who is who at a glance.

De-Sync
Ugh.

Longer Loot Timer
I play a ranged character, and in a party sometimes my computer lags a bit. Tiny bit of lag = not enough time to make it to my loot. With loot-whorish teammates (which happens sometimes), I only get my own loot 10% of the time.

kia kun, its supposed to change in difficulty from act 1 to act 2, it is in no way fun to have both acts the exact same. ya, i died when i walked into the forest myself, i wasnt prepared for all of the monkeys to attack me either. know what i did? i went back and paced myself. i was not ready to push through act 2 like i did act 1, so i had to pace myself, and learn the mechanics of how it works.

when you see 3 monkeys, get ready for about 8. when you see the gorilla dont go further until you killed the gorilla, or hell just call more monkeys.

i adapted.
support - grinding gear games, cdprojekt, runic games, clockstone, larian studios, south peak games, crate entertainment, invision games (on facebook), localize dragonquest anniversery (facebook).
Kickass pvp!

and lot's of drama, drama makes the world go 'round.

in reply to a previous post - ninja looting leads to drama, throw in some good open world pvp and you have.....wait for it....wait for it.....FUN!!

Stolen stuff....dead people (collateral damage)...drama....mmmm good times

intrigue keeps me.....intrigued!

otherwise I get bored and wander off to find fun somewhere else.

This kind of thing lead to the majority of players doing MF runs solo in D2. People pretty much only partied up to do cow runs and other exp runs until they were good enough to be able to do MF runs on their own.

A lot of the people that did public MF runs were using autograb..

my wish list would include

1.better combat(it gets the job done but feels pretty mechanical and doesn't seem to flow well at times)

2.Gender selection for classes and maybe the ability to customize the appearance a little.

3.PANTS!

The main thing that I'd like to see is to have the town areas be refined a little bit. They both feel too small and crowded.

yes, but the first map should not be more difficult then the next 4-6 maps.

1: i hear they are going to work on that
2: I and probably more then 1/2 the community are REALLY hoping for this in the cash shop at very least.

Hmmm.. true there is some dead space that players don't use.
i would rather see them move the TPs in to the uper parts of the map so that you don't click on a TP on accident any more. >.<
