This trades the 2 +10 int and 1 +10 strength nodes you selected on the way to the shadow tree for the power charge duration node and the +30 strength node near inner force. The power charge duration node ties you into the shadow tree so you can respec out of those 3 +10 attribute nodes. Two passive points for +30 strength and power charge duration vs 3 points for +20 int and +10 strength. I would personally make that trade.

Yep, you got it. You get net +20 strength + power charge duration from the new pathing at the expense of 2 +10 int nodes and also get an extra passive point to put into ES or anywhere else you see fit.

Edit: Removed blood thirst and str node (still get 104 str from tree) to add Elemental adaptation. Even without blood thirst there's plenty of crit chance to get the ball rolling with power on crit charges. After charges are up, 45% is not so much.

If you get hit hard by something your ES is recovered instantly, so if it or something else hit's you before you're able to react, you are less likely to die. It can be a life saver.

Edit: Also if you are receiving damage exceeding 20% of your life per second (regen from life leech) you have to run. With Vaal Pact you can stay and tank if your leech is high enough.
