30+ Ideas. Professions/Guilds/Gamble NPC/Chance For White Socket and many more PLEASE READ GGG
Here Is my 2 cents on some stuff that should be added or improved to make this game more robust.. iv been thinking about these ideas since CB and now I want to write about them, please leave some input and GGG please read to take into consideration
Please if you have any comments or suggestions for all the ideas on here or a way to improve idea please post! so we can get GGG heads on a roll with new ideas to impliment! I have stopped playing for a while because although a really good game and i supported them for a while.. END game is getting a little to repetative. All it really is Eaither looking for a high priced Unique to eaither use or sale... rinse and repeat. CRAFTING/CREATING ITEMS keep the crafting recipies for the orbs of coarse but how bout make an extensive crafting merchant in town or somthing (nm reminds me of crappy ass D3) maybe just a menu u can pull up in the hud or somthing. How bout adding lots of crafting "items" to the drop tables of monsters so there is a way to maybe craft orbs/items/gems or other valuable in game stuff like maybe consumable potions that would give me a buff for 180 seconds that adds like +50 health. Like have all the mosters drop a craftable item from them. like zombies eye/goat mans leg blah blah in turn u can turn that stuff into usable things these items will have common/uncommon/magic/rare/unique aspects to them on what you are trying to make. Also maybe you will be able to LABLE your crafted items the way u want them to be called ect which would be a nice little touch to the game (but cannon be MIRRORED) WEAPON/GEAR +% Getting a weapon or gear to +20% doesnt take any time at all with little effort because getting an item to 20% really doesnt add alot of value to a weapon/gear about 20+ more dps on any weapon at times and 50+ on gear. How about making a weapon or gear item to 20% takes more time to do then just giving it a orb that drops like crazy. Make it more valuable to have a weapon or gears attribute every % it goes up. Since it will be harder to make a weapon to 20% the outcome will be more wanted.. like stated above. Have crafting item drops from monsters.. possible weapon parts so u can upgrade ur weapon instead of using that worthless orb. instead have the scraps or whetstones be added into the crafting process. Say I want to upgrade my sword.. if you add in crafting items.. i would be looking for lets say, a leather hilt, "stronger steel"... i take those items to a merchant and to make my weapon +1% i would need a Leather Hilt/"stronger steel"/ and 20 whetstones. of coarse these items will have the same proporties as commom/uncommon/magic/rare/unique depends on what % you are going after. In in turn getting your weapon/gear a 1% will give u like a 5-15 dps value instead of 1 and maybe modifies the MODS on the weapons To Or Adds a Mod every 5% you get. (of coarse balance the damage out so not overpowed.) Of coarse the crafting drops will be tons... because it will be certain parts to certain weapons. So it will be hard to find the all the parts u need to make your weapon 1% (thats when a new trading system will come in for people looking for speicific parts! instead of just orbs and items) also at every 5% Milestone make the weapon look much meaner with all the upgrades you put into them... GEMS +% Same thing as stated above. make crafting recipies for gem pieces and have them combine with GCP's though a little harder to get to 20% for gems the outcome would be alot beter and add more % value added to them. Maybe make gem shards drop for certain gems so it will be hard to look for the certain gem your trying to upgrade. (thats when a new trading system will come in for people looking for speicific parts! instead of just orbs and items) ^^^^^^^^ this gives the game more playability even at end game. instead of just a Unique Witch find END GAME TIERED UNIQUES How about instead of having 1 unique at a certain level. Have tiered uniques of the same type. to many times i always wanted to use a unique that was a low level and i would compromise surviveability just to use that unique and its just not worth it. Instead of that have uniques tiered at diffrent levels which gives the game a better drop table. Lets say a unique drops at a Required level of 20. It has mods the gives 20 health and 2 STR but reserves 20% mana. now the same unique drops at a required level of 60. have the mods do like +100 health +50 STR but reserves 30% mana. OR even adds an attribute like 20% light radius. So all uniques are at least useful all the time but balanced to be not overpowering. REVAMP UNIQUE 3D MODELS If i have a Koams Hart Or Lionseye or anything.. I want people to know im using that item. dont make them shinny or anything. Just make all the 3D models of uniques STAND OUT so people will be like damn. yea hes got a Koams on. All the unique pictures look awsome. but when you put them on.. they just look like a regular weapon/gear.. make them look awsome or at lease like the pictures PROFESSIONS/MULTI CLASS I.E Ranger Hunter/ Ranger Concoctionist/ Ranger Glass Worker/ Ranger Weaponsmith I know it sounds to much like a Regular RPG.. but hey this is an ARPG which should take all aspects of good RPG'S in consideration. Trick to this is You can only choose 1 profession and you can only master that profession (if you can level all professions like mostly any RPG then the value of everything drops cause everyone could just do everything and dont have to seek other "Professionals" in their trade they picked.) Some kind of professions like HUNTER

GLASS WORKER

(As above what i said about GEMS. can break down Gems for GEM shards/parts can use all those extra parts to craft high end desirable Gem shards/parts to upgrade their gems.. leveling this profession can make the best upgradable parts for GEMS after all aquired random gem shards collected. and be able to trade these items with other people without this profession that needs these items.

WEAPONSMITH

(Uses all the parts that the scavenger/smelter collects to make those desirable Weapons ect even though everyone can use scavenger/smelter parts WEAPONSMITH can produce the HIGHEST QUALITY WEAPONRY.... SCAVENGER/WEAPON SMITH NEED EACHOTHER
and so on... YOU CAN ONLY PICK 1 PROFESSION and takes a while to level. basicly everyone needs everyone for all the desired items ect. you cant master all professions. now crafting wont just be set to these professions. EVERYONE can craft. except that if you have a profession in one of these.. you will have a better chance drop rate for certain crafting for your profession and only a person that has a certain profession can craft better quality, have better chance to craft into that certain profession (crafting should also have FAIL rates of coarse.) but in a profession that you are crafting in you have higher chances and there certain items that a person without the profession cannot create but you can because you mastered that profession (Professions will have Leveling up capability, and also maybe some stat points to make it a little interesting.) GUILDS GUILDS GUILDS GUILDS! Freinds list is good for people you play with occasionally but with a guild and professions about guilds would benifit alot! especially if a guild has a Guild BANK and trusted guild members can share their profession crations. Also i know PVP is not really a high demand for working on at the moment. But this would make PVP at its best with Guilds and future PVP EVENTS. LADDERS Guilds can BET items against other guilds or just in PVP alone you can bet items against other PVPers. UNIQUE FLASK/GEMS Says it all.. maybe if profession implimented glass worker can make rare or unique flask with the right ingredience and Gemsmith vise versa. Or if profession not implimented, World drops or at least rare flasks=) GAMBLE NPC Just like the great D2 (if anyone has played it) they had the gamble NPC in the towns which u have a chance to get good items in exchange for currency. Eaither have it in each town or randomly appears in all zones and maps (which limits how many times you can gamble. I like this idea more) for you chance at exchanging currency for RANDOM ITEMS in the vendor items will range from WHITE all the way to unique (A traveling Merchant that sells UNIDENTIFIED ITEMS) EVASION Make evasion better, not overpowering, just so that its at least equal or just a little less then having full armor. about 90% or archer are forced to go full armor for survivability issues due to how evasion fails on every level end game. That as well as archers already have low health as it is. 1 shotted all day at end game 70+ maps if your evasion fails. those forced to go Iron Reflex are shorted of MILESTONE passives also on the archer side. If you dont want to make evasion better. How bout making the DODGE milestone much more useful? eaither way somthing needs to balance between armor/evasion equations. Or have Agility not only increase 1% to EV maybe input a percentage of that into dodge. so like every 5 agility adds .2 dodge or somthing to balance it out DAILY EVENTS/BOUNTY HUNTS Have Daily events/bounty hunts for players everyday. adding these in give the game more playability other then running maps all day, maybe some people want to get away from the droning of mapping all day and take a break for a while and do somthing extra. I know after some time i get really tired of the day to day grind of maps. Bounty hunts will earn you ORBS ect. for killing evils though out the world, same with with DAILY EVENTS. Like need to kill this many certain number of enemys of a certain kind ect. Or A daily event that has a certain area of the world have 100% IQ and IIR but cannot drop uniques. also on this map there would be a cut throat area.. 12 plays can join the same instant and its a FFA kill fest. even though this part of the world has 100% IQ AND IIR there are enemy players on the same map and when you get killed you will drop items that you carry in your iventroy (not your equipted items.) you cannot teleport out and last for XXX minutes ect. ACHIEVEMENTS/TITLE UNLOCKS/CHALLENGES Might sound dumb, but there are those OCD players out there that love this concept, players love to get all the achievements and feel like they accomplished something. Just gives players more things to do. Some showoff stuff and bragging rights. Same thing with Titles, alot of people like titles, maybe when in party Show their Title they earned and picked to show in their player ICON. for their achievements and they can chose what title they wanna show, maybe it might be a little cluttered onscreen but should be an option so you can turn off titles. DPS MULTIPLICATIONS Some times I wounder if the DPS calculator is really correct. I know under the character screen it just shows your base multipliers from you gear. and you skill shows your overall dps from gear and gems. Or maybe its just Critical Damage DPS and Crit Chance Multiplications that mess up the DPS overall score? I could be wrong but I know I do way more damage then what the DPS says in the skill window. Correct me if im wrong GEAR RATING Its just a nice litle touch so u can compare to other people out there.. just a nice little score to show off or talk about. Maybe some how you guys can get a good gear rating system going on how powerful all your stuff is. That is of course on how your build is and everything else that adds to that overall score and if your items that you have on are really complimenting you build. This is a great way to see your overall score when your trying to upgrade you equiptment too. If it takes away to much stats away from the build you already have. Your Gear rating will drop. If you equipt somthing that compliments your build good then your score goes up. It will help alot of people that are confused on all the stats and how to go on the path of their build. SETTINGS A More intricate way of how the grafix settings are, alot of people need tweeking capability so the can tweek the settings to not lose to much of the graphical part of the game but be able to run the game good on their machines. You will get more players in the game if the game could be watered all the way down of find a good balance for the players machine so you have a wider range for all players with diffrent computers to run the game PHYSICAL DAMAGE Physical damage seems to be in the shadows compared to players with mass elemental damage. there are so many nodes that makes elemental attacks do some insane damage, that and also when you have elemental damage on gear or weapons, you get a gain up to 1-106 (not counting uniques) more damage on 1 item alone. The Max physical damage i seen that modified and added to physical damage was like 11-15. Which is not alot compared to how elemental damage is taken into consideration. Say you take a archer with pure physical damage compared to and archer that is pure elemental damage. the Elemental damage will run though the phys damage archer. Also Elemental damage characters also have the curses that give an enemy -XX amount of reduction to that elemental damage. There is nothing on Physical damage that does any amouut of damage that Elemental damage does, seems you are forced to go elemental damage no mater what. Pure physical damage needs to get reworked. you have to go up against armor on enemys ect.. which elemental goes against their resistance to that elemental damage instead. there needs to be a balance. Or at least physical damage should always have a chance to make a target bleed or somthing. CHANCE FOR A WHITE SOCKET We all know you guys have white sockets! and you are hiding them all! how bout a very very low chance that u can roll a white socket on any item. You can only roll 1 White socket for any item and chances are very low you will. How bout you put white socket chances in the game it would be awsome and make items with it way more valuable! I Do not think this is overpowering at all. since its a very low chance. and you will only be able to have 1 in an item at a time.. just saves some trouble on rolling chroms alot and it would look nice RESISTANCE/HEALTH A REQUIRMENT One of the major problems Of the horrid D3 was no mater what, resistance was a requirement to even play the game to a certain point. if you didnt have enuf. You would just never progress. It is getting to the point of how D3 was and in POE if there isnt a tri res and health on an item it will never sell or its just not even good enuf to wear so its trashed. YOU GUYS need to change it so that you do not have to have HEALTH and RES on all gears all the time to progress you characters level. This was one of D3's fatal flaws (that and a couple 100 other ones). Once you balance out the HEALTH and RES problems that it is a REQUIREMENT at all times then the other stats that are in game that can be on gear can be used and be more of a viable build or u can customize your character so much more instead of having these REQUIRED stats on ALL GEAR at all time. RANGE ON PROJECTILES There should be a certain ATTACK RANGE or DROP OFF RANGE on all projectile type attacks/spells. To many times i have seen that a projectile type attack can fly all the way on the other side of the map if it doesnt hit any walls. this is kinda of a pesky problem i run into testing this game. And if range on projectiles was put into the game it opens up lots of options for making it work. How bout instead of having projectiles launch all the way on the other side of the world. you put in a new stat in. RANGE ON PROJECTILES. maybe have strength and agility have and effect on the range or drop off of projectile type attacks also PROJECTILE speed plays into the range or the projectile attack making more cusomizable options to ranged attacks in general. Also playing into POINT BLANK type builds where as instead of less damage when you farther away from the target.. it reduces 50-75% range on you attack because people really dont know how far or close you have to be to the target for the point blank to take effect. Also Killing the effect of all projectiles will help with FPS and LAG/Desync issues. if i stayed back for a while in a game with 5 others.. then i start to run in the map. ALL the animations of spells would play around the map where people where using them all over the place even though they are not there, its very wierd and i think this occuring is 1 reason why people DYSNC or LAG/FPS spike goes up cause the animations are not killed after they play so they are always on the map taking up packet space. CRITICAL STRIKE CHANCE I do not get why SPELLS or WANDS have a better crit strike chance on the item itself then BOWS. It never made sence to me since bows should have the highest crit chance then any other item in the game. Also wands have A higher base crit on chance than daggers and claws.. I belive these crits really need to be switched around draticly. Iv seen a wand with 10% crit strike chance just on the wand itself. IT DOESNT MAKE SENCE. since the highest crit strike chance on seen on any bow was about 6.45% please look into this more because for some reason witches can have more crit chance then a ranger which doesnt make sence at all. Especially rangers that are built for mass crits they are shitted on almost all other characters due to crit chance. this needs to get fixed. Make bows have a higher base crit chance then most other weapons. Please. BASE CRIT STRIKE CHANCE ON WANDS 8% - 8.96% BASE CRIT ON CLAWS AND DAGGERS 6.8% - 7.1% BASE CRIT ON BOWS 5% on all bows. ABILITY TO SEE OTHERS CHARACTER SHEET Just like the title says.. should be able to right click on your buddy and pull up his character sheet to see what they have ect. MAKE TOWNS MORE LIVELY Towns seem to be a bit plain nothing goes on in them at all., i know im nit picking now. it just seem the tows are just dull and no life in them at all. just traders and bunch of exiles on that instant. How about adding in roaming npc's animals birds flying around, bugs ect.. just to give the game a little more flare to it. Also in the world too, seem to be dull usually just enemys and the exiles no other life forms exist in the world. I would like to see some LIVELY words where theres creatures roaming around on trees/rocks bugs flying around corpse bids fly away when u get close to them Vultures eating corpse on the ground and fly away when u get close, lizards and such in the jungle on the side of trees/ random NPC's wandering around the world ect. TRADING i truly despise AH in all forms which can be manipulated/exploited and just a bunch of bad jue jue from AH's. But im really tired of people spamming so much junk in trade i just turn it off. How about make a new stash for selling items. In this stash you have 2 tabs (chance to buy more in micro trans also chance for Micro Trans for naming your selling stash. a PREMIUM SELL STASH) the first stash is to put all the items your selling at the price your selling them for. The other stash which is blocked and only you can see is where all you currency goes to when you sell somthing. This will mitigate the annoying "broken link" "Stale Link" Issue. Also how much peoples spam in trade chat so all they can do is link their SELLING STASH. 1 simple link thats it too all the stuff they are selling. Players just have to click on that link and their TRADE stash pops up in their screen and players can scroll though all the stuff they are selling. This will clean up trade so much better then a wall of spam and make peoples lives easier and wont be annoyed so much MAKE HARDCORE "HARDCORE" How about make hardcore "HARDCORE" instead of if you die you body goes to the normal game. I know why you guys are doing this. So people wont rage quit and leave the game all together. At the same time this is very bad for the normal league. #1) Floods normal league with Leet gear and orbs when someone dies and transfers over to the Normal league. #2) Players abuse this into illegal trades of item or orbs to transfer to normal league. Have hardcore "HARDCORE" when somone joins hardcore have a notice pop up and an agreement."if you die you character is gone forever. All items collected WILL BE GONE FOR EVER upon death. If you agree hit yes" and thats it. its up to the player if he wants to go that route or not. Right now HARDCORE is just SOFT HARDCORE... people want real hardcore! SHOW PLAYERS LEVEL I know its not much. You should see the players level in their player ICON when in party. Just a nice little touch that i see the game is lacking. CUSTOM PLAYER ICONS There should be an option to CUSTOMIZE you players ICON (More Micro Trans Ideas to earn you guys support money.) that shows in party, especially if you incorperate TITLES to the game. This would be a nice little touch to the game that everyone would like. Everyone likes a lot of customization to their character. Have a little more "you" feel to the character you are playing with is always great. I would love to customize my characters ICON while in party to show off a little and give a cooler feel to the game SHOWING BUFFS Instead of showing all the buffs you get from other players and such at he top of the screen. make them simple and small next to the players ICON and show them for all characters. this will reduce clutter at the top of the screen wtih big BUFF rectangles at the top of the screen. Just another nice little touch to the game. WORLD MAP UPGRADE the map you pull up in the world. Its very D2 style and nothing is wrong with that. but D2 is a old old game. I know people who used to play it are like damn.. this is the almost same exact map as D2. How about upgrading that map to be a little more 2013 feel then a 1990 64 bit graffic feel to it. Gives the game a nice little touch to it. keep it within the same look and feel. just more detailed and a look more sharper. PHYS REFLECT AND REGEN I think that reflect should get a dramatic upgrade. The reflect bonuses you get with items that have reflect are just crappy. high tier reflect is like 50 damage reflected.. thats it? you guys need to really update this to make reflect a wanted mod so people can make builds off of it. when you get reflect what ever tier it is on it usually turns the item to crap. that should not be the issue. please upgrade the Phys Reflect MOD. Acually you can add Elemental Reflect as well as a mod. Make it useful and people can make good builds out of these 2 mods. (especially for PVP) REGEN is another low wanted mod. Although pritty good if you have all your gear that has it. I belive it needs to be bumped up in how much you regain just a little so its just not a useless mod you can get. FRENZY SKILL GEM MALFUNCTION I had to test this out myself. my frenzy right now should give me 14% attack speed per charge instead of the regular 5% per charge due to default charge settings. So I fire up and get my 3 stacks of charges. I check my character data sheet. and low and behold it only adds 15% for all 3 charges instead of 42% like the Frezy Skill Gem states. Now i dont know if this is a Typo and im really get 42% instead of 15% and the game is just adding up the base rate you get the charges at and doesnt input that you are you are using the frenzy skill gem.. But on the character data sheet. It states on my attack speed that it only adds 15% and not 42% like it should from using frenzy to get charges. You guys need to look into this. NEW ADDITION TO CHARACTER SHEET How about add a new addition to the character sheet that shows DEATHS PVP KILLS/WINS ENEMYS KILLED OF CERTAIN KIND (IE MAGIC,UNIQUE,COMMON, OR TYPE) PROJECTILES FIRED MELEE SWINGS TOTAL DAMAGE AMMOUNT DAMAGE TAKEN HP RECOVERED GAMES PLAYED TIME PLAYED RARES PICKED UP UNIQUES MAGIC CHEST OPEN LARGE CHEST OPEN ORBS COLLECTED BY TYPE. ECT. that would be a nice little addition to look at under your character sheet CGI MOVIES I know this is way down the line and because of budgets this is hard to get to, but this is what will make the game POP and at showings and stuff to start putting in story lines with CGI MOVIES for all classes. Maybe you guys can hire one of your supporters to do some rendering for you guys with your guidence to start making CGI MOVIES, OR put in a Contest for CGI makers out there to make some Movies for you guys under your guidence and reviews of coarse and choose the best CGI maker. I know there are a lot out there. Make a incentive prize too, The one picked the best will fly to GGG headquarters for a tour and maybe be hired by GGG? if i could do CGI I would Def jump all over that GEMS (ARMOR BREAK) A Gem that Lets a Physical attack Ignore armor or a certain percentage of armor on a enemy/physical reduction (RANGE PHYSICAL DAMAGE) A Gem that Lets Physical range attacks (not Projectiles cause thats mostly everything) get the same damage support as the Melee counterpart (Melee Damage Support) (WEAK HEARTED) A Gem that curses an enemy that reduces armor or physical resistance. More are on the way! I do not think the rest of your thread is coming but good luck with that. As for unique items, they are not supposed to be the best items in the game they are just supposed to be game changing/build enabling. So leveled unique items probably wont happen. For example Quillrain is a low level bow but if you can find a 6socketed one it can be used for an end game build despite its low damage.
