I am using an emulation software to make my Ps3 controller run as a keyboard/mouse (on a lappy and cramped for space) and it works pretty damned good. But then again this isn't the only game I have played like this before (D1,D2, Titty quest: IM, D3 and a bunch of other games).

I use Gigabyte M69000. it has 5 button. although it is for FPS it will be alright for this game. :)
