The Beta Manifesto

"
Some example recipes (these are just made up on the spot, and are not actual ones from the testing copy):

* hand in two magic (blue) items for an identification scroll
* hand in a quality=20 weapon for a whetstone
* hand in six rare items for a chaos sphere
* bring a specific NPC a magic version of each dagger base type in return for a high-ish level currency item

These recipes allow people to offload their junk, upgrade some certain types of existing currency items, and collect sets of arbitrary items to get rewards. It’ll encourage trading (for the missing pieces of sets), and the information disparity will reward players who discover new recipes. We intend to change the recipes available at each NPC over time.

It doesn't seem like this system will take in to account the different levels of the items.
Meaning that an axe from the hardest difficulty will be just as valuable as an axe from the first difficulty.

What if you implement a "value" system.
So lets say a magic axe from normal dif. is worth 10 and a magic mace from the hardest dif. is worth 100.
Now lets say a scroll of wisdom is worth 20 and a portal scroll 60.

So, in order to get a scroll of wisdom, you'll have to trade in 2 normal axes.
And if you trade in the mace (from the hardest dif.) you could get 2 scrolls of wisdom and one portal scroll.
Or maybe, you want 5 scrolls of wisdom for that mace, it's all for you to decide.
This way, instead of selling stuffs to merchants, you will be trading with them.
I think this fits the theme of this game much better.

I know this isn't a full description of my idea, but it's certainly something to elaborate on.

Also, I love you GGG and thanks for being so interactive with the forum and sorry if my English isn't the best. It's not my native language :)
Dang, now look what you have done, you made me drool all over myself. Can't wait to play this game one day :)
This all sounds very promising. I'll be looking forward to trying it out and giving more substantial feedback :-)

Hi guys,

We've posted our Beta Manifesto - a completely frank document about exactly what we feel needs to be improved with Path of Exile and how we plan to fix it.

This is available publicly so that we can get heaps of feedback and ideas from you guys, even before you get into beta. We're very keen to make this an amazing game with your help!

We're going to update it as frequently as we can, so check back weekly!

Perfect, this is what im looking for. Be sure that i will help u as much as i can, honestly i can say u are my hope on the game industry, beacause all seems to be corrupt.. look at diablo3 and their criminal practices..

even if i dont receive a beta key i will look videos on youtube and if i see something that i think that can be fixed, i post it here in the forum.

Well from what I've seen it still looks great
Under Vendors/Currency:

The word "Specialized" is spelled as "Specialised". Just a side note! Good read overall and I can't wait to try out Closed Beta.

British/Australian/New Zealand standardisation. Like color/colour and armor/armour.

The Manifesto was a great read, and even better knowing it'll be updated gradually too. :D
YOUはSHOCK!
Ecellent, [insert additional generic developer compliment here], keep up the hard work, GGG!
