Off Topic - Can anyone recommend a metal band? - Forum

I am into all types of Metal and it seems there are some good suggestions here for you. Wasn't able to read all of them so here are some of my favorites, mostly melodic power metal, I saw a lot of death metal stuff on the first page so thought I would broaden the discussion. I don't know what it is about Ayreon but he's almost like a more talented, ambitious musical version of Uwe Boll in that respect. So purely in terms of music, Avantasia and Ayreon are definitely on different pages. They coincide only in regards to their ensemble nature. And although I approve of most of the main members of Avantasia, the lead vocalist shits me to tears, so that's pretty much the end of that. The happy-go-lucky pretentiousness that is uniquely Ayreon has been a love of mine for over a decade now, and although he can't really sing all that well, he clearly attracts people who can. dont know if anyone mentioned this yet but you have to check out TOOL, not really sure how to label them though lol. songs to check out by them are: Hooker with a penis (TBH the whole Aenima album) ticks and leaches parabola laturalus (the whole laturalus album) jerk off prison sex sober intolerant... not gunna lie you can really pick out any song by them and enjoy it also check out primus, not really metal but are defiantly a very interesting sound.
