Harvest gambling needs to go.

I agree it should be removed. It was interesting when the crafts were just random chance finds, but now that its fixed on lifeforce it really does create a ton of problems.

Perhaps offer a more interesting way to finish a set instead. Then again I feel like most div cards are bad for the game, so having a way to get more of them from something like harvest is bad.

its a zero sum game tho right?

its 50/50 so on average as many cards are destroyed as created?

the more someone uses it the more their results will probably trend towards the average which is nothing, you just lose the lifeforce and neither lose or gain any cards given enough time right?

I don't think its a true 0 sum otherwise people in general would not do it. It might be as low as 51% with streaks here and there, but if it wasn't in the players favor it wouldn't be as big as it is now.

This exactly. It's a currency sink for yellow lifeforce. It also makes some things available in SSF that otherwise wouldn't be. I think it's good for the game overall

There sink having actual crafts, following your logic we need one for blue and purple too.

Thats the thing SSF is a self imposed restriction, I understand frustration with not having a way to get what you want, but thats just the game. I don't mind changes to the game that fit the SSF mentality, but not at the cost of the game at large.

I think the scope of div cards should have been defined and narrow, rather then literally (almost, 2 I know of being 1 ring and 1 chest) the rest are free to have as many submitted for it as possible.

The idea was you could farm something like a tabula, introduce stuff like headhunter which wasn't droppable before, but now is, ect. But for everything of value to get a div card it ruins the whole point and excitment of farming content it drops from. Not to mention makes stuff like MF even more absurd. Not only are you more likely to find it, you find more currency, more div cards, ect. Its absurd.

Remove MF from POE, make juiced map the new MF.
Dunno, i still think a stack of cards that makes a mirror costing more than 2 mirrors is ridiculous.
imo it should be an ssf only feature ,if you play tradeleague u should fckin grind it out or trade for it, thats the freakin game.

Same reason people buy lotto tickets? Odds of winning the powerball are well below being struck by lightning, but people line up for it.

What even is this logic? Of COURSE people are going to do something without needing favorable odds, how do you think casinos stay in business?

Or are you saying that you think the PoE community is LESS prone to gambling than your average person, when the thing we're gambling is monopoly money which gets deleted every 3-4 months anyway? Because if so, well, I've got a bridge to sell you...

But regardless of whatever you think or feel, harvest gambling is EXACTLY zero-sum. Assuming you have infinite harvest juice and don't stop until you hit a full set or go down to zero cards, your odds of converting 60% of a set to a full set are exactly 60%. Your odds of converting 10% of a set to a full set are 10%. And so on.
It's good for quite some reaction videos. It'll probably stay. But it's dumb. Then again so are stacked decks and I like those.

I'm dumb.
Did you try turning it off and on again?
