Since Im playing this build I have not lost a single round! Ez 1.5k+ ranks

+ Tanky AF
+ Fast Rounds
+ Almost impossible to lose
+ Somewhat cheap (30/08/2023)
+ Functions without luxury items
+ Can beat any tribe even if picking low favour

- Zdps, need to rely on units to kill turtle
- This build is not beginner friendly to setup.
- You are not immortal. Same way you can die in delve with a tanky build.
- Cant level with this build. You need to respec at around lvl85+
- You will need another character or respec if you want to do the challenges

Core Items:

Attack / Spell block cap:

+4x Honoured Tattoo of the Sky (+3% to all Elemental Resistance)
+6x Tattoo of the Valko Shaman (+1% Spell Block Chance)

YOU MIGHT NEED MORE OR LESS BLOCK TATTOOS DEPENDING ON YOUR BOW/QUIVER ROLL TO CAP SPELL / ATTACK BLOCK

Spell Dodge cap:

6x Tattoo of the Arohongui Moonwarden (+8% to Cold Resistance)

YOU YOU MIGHT NEED MORE OR LESS DEX / SPELL SUPPRESS ON GEAR TO CAP DODGE

Phys to Ele dmg taken

50% Coil
8% Helm Crafted mod
6% Helm Eldritch implicit
7% Watchers
10% Lethal Pride Timeless jewel (17227 or 10712 Kaom)

Gloves

Rare gear:

You might need to use POB to calculate your resists and attributes. This can be quite advanced. We are using tattoos so we need more attributes than normally.

You need to make sure you are capping spell suppress at 150% Which will result in 75% Spell dodge (Acrobatics). You can get that on Helm or Boots. Either should be enough with a t2 roll.

You also want to cap chaos res. This helps vs couple enemies in trial.

Luxury Defence Items:

Bloodnotch tech explained:

I have have added Bloodnotch, immutable force, and petrified blood into the build.

"
It can be expensive, but It is one of the most tanky combos that I have ever seen in POE.

Bloodnotch & Immutable Force - These combined with petrified blood are an extremely strong defensive layer. At high rolls, your character will tank and recover almost any hit. To be the most effective, you will need at least 58% recovery on Bloodnotch, a 21/20 petrified blood, and 40% life recoup. Lower numbers will need to be made up for with life leech/regen.

You also need ES Mastery: Stun Threshold is based on 60% of your Energy Shield instead of Life

The mastery will make you get stunned since we dont have a lot of ES. This will trigger the recoup tech.

If you still dont understand I recommend watching a youtube video.

Ascendancy

Take Endurance charges instead of ritual of awakening if you dont have capped resist or 90% pdr

Bandits

Kill all

Pantheon

Whatever, just dont take the stun immunity

I use Arakaali + Ryslatha

Flasks

Dont copy my flasks, they are trash.
But basically life flasks + quicksilver

Leveling / Respec

I started the league with arma band then I switched to shockwave. I farmed 1000 rank with shockwave but it died to every hit pretty much. Then I respecced.

If I was gonna play this build again on league start. I would probably play like some totem build. Maybe holy flame totem or storm burst totem. The build is pretty unique you cant avoid a majoy respec. So leveling is pretty much up to you, you will need a lot of regrets to respec to this. Like 80-100 regrets.

Also I would not respec below lvl80 ish

If you already have a high level character on other starting class you can do the build on it. I cover that in the next section

Other class options

This build works on every starter class On shadow drop some life passives.

Im not making a build for each class but you can use their defence tech.
Eg: Necro block.

Basically Take the shortest path to our passive tree and just dont take the templar's first 3 passive nodes obviously.

Class choices

Witch

Necromancer: Take offering ascendancy, command of darkness to have easier gearing / block capping
Elementalist: Golems for more defence
Occultist: Extra curse (temp chains) Also you can try to scale chill.

Marauder

Jugg: Prolly this ascendancy is ur best bet. Take Unbreakable, Undeniable, Unreleting

Duelist

Champion: Fortitude

Ranger

Pathfinder: This is cool one. You can scale flask effect and have even more juced defence

TRIAL GUIDE

You are expendable, be bait. Let your troops do the towers, and assist whenever you can.

General summary of the strategy:
The enemy team has a very high priority to get you off of their towers, and will expend a lot of time and resources chasing you down. Waste their time, while using units with specifically good AI to achieve their roles.

Defense:
Defense can be filled with any units, however Speardancers work best; an added benefit being that they come from the same favor as your primary unit, making them usually pretty easy to stack. If you can't get Speardancers, Tidecallers or any other units will work well enough. Always make sure you have a couple defenders early.

Attack:
Your attackers are your tanks in this setup. Warcallers, Hinekora's Horns, or anything else that has a bit of health behind it. Their primary role is simply stalling flankers & attackers long enough that your flankers can wipe them out. You don't want high DPS units in this role, as you want to avoid killing their attackers.

Escorts:
Consuming Kunekune's, Enraged Kunekune's, Hinekora's Horns all work well. Kunekune's have a very aggressive AI towards assisting you on totems, making them preferred in this role. Thunderbirds or other similar can work as well; this is the least important role.

Flankers:
The most important role in this strategy. You want to fill the flankers up exclusively with the Sunset Sages. Your primary goal is to get 4 of these ASAP, even at the cost of trading down favor. When you pick your favor rewards, you should consider this heavily; and take less favor if it is more of Ramako once converted. Don't neglect the other roles, as your Sunset Sages still need support, but a setup of 4 of these is priority.

Favor:
Early on, you want to look at what favor is being offered, and look for patterns - the favor tribes won't change throughout the tournament, so look for early Ramako value and collect it before those tribes get eliminated. Generally, in the early rounds, aim for either Ramako or Tukohama favor, and consider anything other than those to be at lower value. Pay special attention to other tribe favor to be sure it will be enough to actually buy a troop from that tribe! In later rounds, you can look to take other favor needed to fill out your slots, but generally Ramako favor still comes out ahead; as it is used for both Defense and Flanking, and more Sunset Sages are even good in the Escort position too.

Advanced Favor:
When looking at favor values, it's important to consider how the favor will be used. An example of this is the hinekora tribe, whose only offerings are at 550 and 300. 250 favor with hinekora is useless unless you get more! Look at each opponent to see what tribes are most common and try to optimize around that; avoid tribes with little to no favor offers as you are more likely to end up with leftover favor that is unusable. In the early game, this is especially important.** If you keep losing early, this is usually the reason why!**

Combat Strategy:
When the round starts, immediately rush towards their side of the map using either the top or bottom side, and let their attackers and champion pass by you. Touch a forward totem very briefly, which will trigger all of their instant-defense abilities, such as speardancers, thunderbirds, etc. Dodge those and immediately move to the back totems and begin breaking them. Prioritize keeping pressure on totems that are the most disruptive for your troops, such as Caldera's, Tidecallers, etc - and keep their focus on you, and aimed away from the other totems. If you see an opening to assist your troops on a totem, take it quickly. Your goal is to base-race the opponent; their AI is terrible at aggression, and their champion will almost never channel, and most of their channelers will stop to fight regularly; whereas you can assist your channels and focus-fire their troops down. Once the defensive line is dead for your opponent, you can either continue to base trade if you are comfortable, or fall back and defend a bit if needed; and your troops will finish the job on their own.

Early Rounds:
Early rounds are the hardest with this setup, very frequently you will be trading too much favor to get Sunset Sages too fast, and it will slow your progression/defense early. Early on, put extra units in defense if they have more attack/flankers, and focus a bit more on getting the totems yourself. Find the right balance for your build.

You need 159 int for Enfeeble.
I copied your build and I have too much excess stats lol. Do you think its good to replace all of them with global defence tattoo?

Dont forget you need dex to have 75% dodge. I will look into this question in POB, basically we want to get our EHP es high as possible so either global defence or 2% max life tattos. Life might be better. If you have better helm than me with spell suppress mod, you might not need that many dex attributes. I recommend importing your character in POB and see what can you do with tattoos while still capped on defences

Awesome. Keep me posted if you find any cool reward
How would you go about leveling this build? Since it is such a specialized build, it seems like leveling would be a bit rough around the edges.
