" There is a MMORPG called Pirates of the burning sea that allows players to create their own sails and flags for their vessels. However the submissions go through a thorough process of evaluation to see if they are suitable for the game; they make sure the designs fit into the historic timeline (hence you cannot have a cybernetic octopus with rocket launchers on your sails), are appropiate for the public, use a proper pallet of colors, etc. Getting your submission reviewed can take from 1 to 2 months, but it's effective to keep dildos out of the jolly roger. In this case it would be much simpler and less time consuming since all GGG would have to do is review the name and discard inappropiate ones, and also the submissions wouldn't be as many if made as a cash shop item or a rare drop orb. I believe it's the most effective way to keep "Smaug's Phallus" out of the market. ____________________________________________

Very good idea. but unless they think about this extremly hard we will get a problem.
The biggest issue will be all names.. Even tho we love them. they will still be to much. Make Big Bounderies on how/when this naming can be done, and the effect will be better. If the names will be rare. people will understand the true power of the name, and most will just love to own one. If the names are made like milkshakes then the names looses the value and everyone just want their own name on everything. It will destroy the game. Im not saying the only ppl who cna name is first to lvl 100. or if you kill 10 ppl in 1 hit or other impossible things. But it cant be to easy. This idea is a very good one cause everyone is gonna ether wanna own a named sword. OR wanna get the opertunity to make one yourselfe. |

Whenever I pitch this idea the response is consistently positive. I believe that a cash shop item to rename your gear would drive sales & interest. The initial reaction from ppl is frequently an instant proclamation of support for the idea followed up by a strong desire to rename their 5l.
This could be both a satisfactory impulse buy for players & a distinguishing feature for PoE. ____________________________________twitch.tv/tyranthal
